Outstanding hotel, highly recommend. Excellent friendly staff made us feel very welcome. We got a basic double room which was small but efficient. It did have small bedside tables on each side of the bed and a small desk with chair. Nice little nook held the coffee and tea service. Shower pressure was great, linens were high quality, bed was comfortable. We did have drinks in the bar/seating area after returning from dinner and had a lovely visit with the front desk staff. Lots of dining options and coffee shops nearby. Perfect for a night or two but I would want a bigger room if we were staying longer. Opening up two suitcases for an extended time would be hard to do in this room. Note that Richmond is close to Heathrow and you will hear airplanes until midnight and starting at 6am no matter where you are. The hotel has good insulation so we had no trouble sleeping, but we could definitely hear the jets.

Minutes from shopping, 10 min walk to train station, 10 minutes to Ted Lasso Pub, Richmond Park 15min walk. Great central location. Very Posh, loved the heated bathroom floor. Breakfast was wonderful, worth every pence (penny). Room is UK sized so if you are expecting a large North American hotel room remember UK and European rooms ain’t that. Our room had a queen bed but still didn’t feel cramped. I struggle to think of a negative if only to add some legitimacy to my review but can’t think of a single thing. Definitely the nicest hotel we stayed during our 2 week UK visit. Will be back, hotel was one of the highlights.

We had a wonderful stay at The Selwyn. It was such a great location. A short walk to the Richmond High Street, Twickenham and the shops. Bus stops and the trains close by. Bed was very comfortable and the staff were lovely. Thanks for having us !!
