Mimaru Nijo castle was a great place to stay if you’re travelling with 4 people. It has spacious room area for your luggages. Although, there’s only one shower and toilet area, which might cause slight traffic jam in the morning/evening. It’s a bus ride away from Kyoto station, very close to Nijo castle if you ever want to visit!

Recently stayed here for 4 nights and had a really nice time. It’s in a walkable area, with restaurants and a 7-11 close by. The staff was incredibly helpful and our room was clean and spacious. Would stay here again.

Staff was friendly and easy to communicate with. The room itself was nice and overall clean...there were some areas of dust (by the windows) but nothing that was too evident. Convenient with the washer/dryer combo, mircowave and fridge. Was comfortable for our party of 5. It was about a 15 minute walk to train station for us..but it was relatively easy to walk. I would stay it centrally located on a quiet street.

The front desk team were exceptional! Friendly, hospitable and knowledgeable! Location was also convenient for busses and grocery. Niko castle is a ten minute walk away and the Kyoto station was only a $16 can ride

We stayed for two nights at Mimaru Kyoto Nijo Castle and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The level of service we received was exceptional — staff members were consistently friendly, courteous, and always eager to assist with any questions or requests. We booked the Japanese-style connecting rooms, which were ideal for our family. The rooms were spotlessly clean, thoughtfully designed, and surprisingly spacious, offering plenty of room for everyone to relax comfortably. We especially appreciated the clever layout that provided ample storage space for our suitcases, which helped us keep the rooms tidy during our stay. The in-room kitchen was another highlight — it was fully functional and well-equipped, allowing us to prepare light meals and snacks for our kids. Having a washer inside the room was a huge bonus, particularly for a family traveling with young children. It added so much convenience and made packing for the trip much easier, knowing we could do laundry on-site. Overall, Mimaru Kyoto Nijo Castle provided a perfect blend of comfort, practicality, and traditional Japanese charm. We would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to families or anyone looking for a clean, spacious, and family-friendly hotel in Kyoto.

Located in a quiet residential neighborhood, my son and I found the room tranquil with comfortable beddings and traditional Japanese floor along with modern shower and calming lighting. Staff were friendly and helpful with all our needs. I left a jacket behind which they will help me to ship it back home to the States. I highly recommend this hotel.
