DoubleTree by Hilton Fresno Convention Center
"The hotel itself was beautiful, and we really enjoyed the overall atmosphere. However, the rooms were a little outdated and could use some updating. Unfortunately, our first impression wasn't the best. We arrived quite late on our first night, around 10:30 p.m., and the front desk receptionist who checked us in made us feel very uncomfortable. Her demeanor came across as unwelcoming and judgmental, and we couldn't help but feel as though we were being treated differently. I'm not sure if it was because of our ethnicity or because my husband has visible tattoos, but regardless of the reason, we left that interaction feeling unwelcome. We were nothing but kind and respectful, so the experience was disappointing, especially when arriving somewhere expecting a warm welcome. Thankfully, the rest of the staff we encountered throughout the following days were very friendly, kind, and accommodating. They made our stay much more enjoyable and left us with a better impression of the hotel overall. Overall, the property is beautiful, and the majority of the staff were wonderful. However, that initial check-in experience definitely took away from what could have been an even better stay."
