A great week in the Black Hills

We had a great stay in the Black Hills and enjoyed the proximity to Custer State Park with this rental. We were disappointed that the advertised hot tub didn’t work. The gas fire pit on the deck and the bottom oven were also out of order (there is a top oven that works). Other appliances worked great and the house was reasonably clean and stocked.

Annual trip to Sturgis Motorcycle Rally

This the second time we have stayed at this cabin during the rally. We love the location. It provides great access to many of the places we ride to but it is quiet and safe. I would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to SD, especially during the off-season when it is less expensive.. Owners are great? Thanks.

Awesome house in great location but beds are awful.

House is lovely, well maintained, and in an ideal location. The large meadow behind the house with the creek and play structure provided great fun for the kids. We enjoyed the easy to use gas firepit on the deck, the hot tub, air conditioning, and the tourist train going by. On the down side were difficulties in hearing back from the property manager and the terrible beds in both downstairs bedrooms. Since the kids slept upstairs, I can't comment on the quality of that bed. Overall, the property was just what we were looking for and would be 5-Stars with improvements to the beds and communication with property owner.

Location was perfect.

Location was perfect. The views were gorgeous, we had deer in the backyard every night.. The hot tub was awesome… Would be nice to have a table and chairs down by the hot tub to lay towels/drinks on when getting in and out. (It Shows a table and chairs on the photo) but there was not one. We Loved the fire pit on the top deck-We turned it on every night! The faucet in the bathroom shower was super touchy and we were afraid by the end of our stay that we wouldn’t get the water to turn off… We brought our own electric griddle to make breakfast for our family each day. The cabin was great, our only minor complaint was the beds weren’t super comfortable. But, we would stay here again.

The perfect vacation rental in the hills

This cabin had everything we needed for our family vacation. It was extremely clean and we enjoyed every minute of our stay! The kids especially enjoyed the large yard, hot tub, fire pit, and waving at the train. Thank you for your hospitality!

Black Hills Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful stay with our family over Thanksgiving in the Black Hills. This cabin met our needs perfectly. It has a beautiful view. It could use a few upgrades in the living room and a more thorough cleaning, but it was a great cabin. Our family would definitely stay there again.

The property was very close to the activities we wanted to see.

Being it was the off season was perfect for my husband and me. It was nice to relax and not be around lots of people. It was nice and clean. Thank goodness it was not busy with the place being in close proximity to a road. We did have an issue with the internet, we did call and message to get it figured out but no one responded. Thank you for sharing your place. It was very nice.

Nice place. Great location.

Centrally located location great for exploring the Black Hills. Home was clean and as advertised. I might even say that the interior was actually nicer and larger than the pictures make it appear. Our two year old loved the 1880s tourist train running through the back yard! (Don’t worry. Train does not run too early or late and is far enough away to not even hear if the doors are closed.)

Filthy

The cabin was filthy & fly/wasp infested. We left piles of at least 300 flies we killed either by swatting or spray. We also threw away alot in the trash. The owner said she had cleaned & swept up flies before we came. She may have swept flies up, but when we arrived there were more. We didn't realize at the time it was an ongoing problem. She said they are coming in from the ceiling or somewhere. You should make her fix that. Cleaning she could not have done. When I cleaned, the rags were filthy!

Lovely house

Our stay was great. While the bedrooms are small the rest of the house is very spacious. Plenty of room. Appreciated the maps and guides available and we really enjoyed the fire pit in the cool evening. Everything was ready and easy to use. We would definitely stay there again given the opportunity.

Great location!

My husband and I stayed here with my parents and our 4 small kids. It was in a great location just outside of Keystone in a beautiful quiet area. We loved the large yard next to a little creek in back. The train going by was a special treat. The cabin was well maintained and cozy. We enjoyed sitting on the deck in the mornings also. Great spot!

Great.

A great location and perfect for all the local attractions. Well equipped for 4 adults and 4 kids, clean and well kept. Outdoor barbecue and fire pit available too for enjoying the cool evenings and night outdoors. The amenities inside the house need some upgrading, some bathroom doors do not lock either. We had a fun time and enjoyed it overall.

Wonderful place for a family get-together!

We had a family reunion and this place was perfect. The kids loved the large yard and the fire pit at night. The house was spacious and clean. It is very centrally located - which made all of our site seeing easier. The view from the deck and backyard was great. I would definitely stay here again.

The home is well kept. It is very clean and the basic things you need are provided. It has a well kept front play area and a fire pit. The deck is great, with a nice view to relax by. The owners are very responsive and easy to work with. All the area attractions are within a short drive. Very satisfied with our stay.

Perfect Base Camp for the Black Hills...

This place was perfect for us. Just outside of Keystone one way and just a little further to Hill City the other. We only had 2 days but were able to visit Rushmore, tour almost all of Custer State Park (what a gem), groceries in Rapid City, do an 8-mile hike, have a great lunch in Hill City, see Lead and Deadwood, drove through Spearfish Canyon, then Sturgis. We were worn out but we'll be back for more! The cabin itself was great. Super clean. QUIET and away from the heavy traffic of the main thoroughfares. Plenty of room... there was only 2 of us but it looked to me like you could easily fit the Brady bunch in there. Susan was easy to work with and gave easy instructions. I highly recommend!

It was a very convenient, comfortable stay

The layout of the cabin was very nice for our situation. My wife and I stayed upstairs in the 1 bedroom. There's a full bath upstairs and a loft/sitting area. We turned the A/C on several times but generally the cabin temperature was comfortable without it. Our son and daughter-in-law and their kids stayed on the main floor with two bedrooms and a full bath. It was nice to have a little separation, as much as I love grand kids. One night we did dutch oven chicken in the fire pit outside. I brought the dutch oven and we bought briquettes at Walmart in Rapid City (about 25 minutes away). Another day we slow cooked ribs in the oven and then moved them to the outside propane grill to finish them. The grand kids loved hearing the train horn as it was coming near. They would run to the deck and wave at the passengers. We washed a few batches of clothes in the washer and dryer. The dishwasher helped with the kitchen chores. The cabin is on a paved road a short 2 miles from Keystone. So it was very convenient to the restaurants and attractions. We had a lot of fun at the Big Thunder Gold Mine tour. After a tour of the mine we did the gold panning. They showed us how to do it and we found a few gold flecks to put into a bottle. It was fun to learn how to do it. We went to Rapid City twice for various groceries and supplies. One day was slightly marred at a restaurant in Keystone. We spent about an hour inside the Railhead restaurant. After a delay we placed our order, although we never did get our kid's menus that were promised. Several times during the hour our waiter came to apologize for the delay. After seeing several tables being served who had come in after us, we finally gave up and left. We had ice cream cones crossed the street for dinner. It may have been that the waiter was new or just on something, so perhaps your experience at the restaurant will differ. All in all it was a very comfortable place to stay. It felt like home for a few days. I would recommend this as an excellent and convenient place to stay near Mount Rushmore, Keystone, Jewel Cave and other attractions in the area.
