We had 3 generations of our family come to the Big Island for 6 days! This home was big enough to accomodate us all which was lovely. We liked the outdoor spaces, the hot tub and pool (tho the pool was always a bit chilly!), the grill, the large laundry space, speedy wifi and cable, and the close location to lots of great restaurants, stores, and beaches. There were some things that could be improved...no ac was acceptable to us when we booked, but during our stay the bedrooms took a long time to cool down--well after bedtime--and you had to have all windows open for them to cool, so not a ton of privacy. There were no completely enclosed larger spaces so the 8 pm quiet hour expectation meant we couldn't really be together and do an activity (play games, large group convos) after 8 without always worrying we were being loud. Some of the surfaces could use a deep clean, especially windows, screens, and tall cabinets. The kitchen had great supplies for cooking overall, but random things were odd--not really enough forks, mostly plastic drink ware, some small appliances were not working. Beach and pool toys were a welcome perk, but they all needed a good clean out. Overall it felt less "high end resort" and more "family cottage", which is fine but the rental price put my midwestern expectations at the resort level. The host was super kind and responsive, so absolutely no complaints there. Overall we had a great time!
