The property has character and charm along with a roof terrace restaurant that looks out on the Bosphorus. However, it is split on two sites and access involves walking up quite steep steps or negotiating a steep slope. As long as you are reasonably fit, I woould recommend it for your stay in Istanbul.

The stay started off not the best. We booked a room and part of the package was an upgrade although on arrival the upgraded room was in another building and we wanted to stay in the main building really. Was given the original room we booked and asked the staff to notify us of when a room becomes available in the main building we'd like to move there. They assured they would although no one got back to us even though there was availability. Maybe some miscommunication there. Emrah however in guest relations was excellent and sorted out our issue straight away which I was grateful for. The hotel is beautiful and within walking distance to Galata and close to the old city. Breakfast was decent and the views from breakfast were great.

Fantastic location close to Sultanahmet and transportation to all places in Istanbul. Walking to Galata tower and Galata Port. Amazing staff, attention and food at the rooftop restaurant. Breakfast there was very very good. Will definitely return.

Our room was absolutely beautiful — spacious, impeccably decorated, and equipped with every modern convenience we could imagine. We stayed for 5 days. We were put up in a separate building from the main one (about 50m) and up a very steep hill. The first floor accommodation was noisy from the pub across the road. The room was cold even with the air con turned up to 30 degrees and the blankets were not great in keeping warm. It would have been helpful to have additional heaters in the room. The thing that we enjoyed the most was the high pressure shower. Breakfast was reasonable and expected from the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

I can't wait to return. This hotel thoroughly deserves all the positive reviews which also convinced me to book my stay here. I've never felt so at home before and I travel often. The staff are honestly so fantastic, from the friendly sweet and efficient housekeeping to the polite door staff and reception. The decor is also gorgeous and I love the amenities you are given in your room. So incase you forgot your toothbrush etc, don't worry it's all here. I had an issue with a room and was offered an alternative and in the end changed buildings as the heating wasn't top notch which is something that needs to be looked at i think. The room I ended up in was toasty and perfect! They even surprised me with a complimentary plate of fruits which was a nice surprise because I wasn't upset at all, just needed some warmth lol. I was recovering from a surgery so the nutrients were very welcome. Istanbul in general seems like a welcoming place and I'll love to return and will likely stay here for longer and really get to enjoy the facilities more. I didn't get to visit the roof top but I'm sure I will next time. I think the room service food could also use some improvements in terms of variety to really catch up to how perfect everything is! Looking forward to coming back.

Our stay at DeCamondo Galata Hotel was absolutely incredible! After a medical procedure, this hotel became the perfect place for recovery. The rooftop restaurant, with its stunning views of entire Istanbul, was a true highlight and so convenient to have right at the hotel. The staff, especially Cigdem and Sefa, made us feel so welcome and cared for—thank you for your kindness! The location couldn’t be better—right in the heart of Beyoğlu, just a short walk to Galata Tower and the waterfront, surrounded by amazing attractions and restaurants. The entire team was friendly, understanding, and made our stay seamless. We are so grateful for this experience and can’t wait to return!
