From the moment we arrived with Paola meeting us at the car park and escorting us through the charming medieval village, up the steep cliffside hill to our own slice of heaven at the foot of the castle, we felt as though we had been transported to another time and place more beautiful anything we could have imagined. The view of the Gulf of Poets was made more gorgeous by the storm clouds and sun bursting through. Paola was gracious in offering to extend our checkout time since it the weather had been inclement and in retrospect, we wish we would have stayed rather than leaving early to visit Cinque Terre.
