Embassy Suites by Hilton Colorado Springs
"This hotel has been sold back to a franchisee from the main company, and has recently been "spruced up." The newly painted walls looked nice, I like the breakfast and the cocktail "hour" but there are some things that we were not impressed with. We have been coming to this venue for many times over the years. One primary reason is the Margarita at Pine Creek which is a favorite restaurant and just a very short walk out the back door. We generally come down from Denver during the day, have dinner, spend the night and return in the morning. Some things we had not experienced in the past were: 1) a parking enclosure is now set up around the hotel, which is gated and requires an additional $15 per day to park. None of the other hotels which are close by have this "impediment," and I will need to take this cost into consideration when booking the next time. the thought struck me that I could have probably parked at the restaurant overnight or in one of the other lots, which had a bunch of empty space. 2) At least two of the 3 elevators were not working. One was placarded and totally out of order. The one next to checkout desk would not come to floor 1 when the "call" button was pushed. If you got on on another floor, You could ride down to 1. But calling it to 1 didn't work. 3) Now, I did not place the "do not disturb" hanger on the door...actually I don't think there was one in the room. Housekeeping tapped on the door around 0820. I happened to be up but my wife was not."
