I stayed at Hilton Cardiff with my family to celebrate a special occasion, but unfortunately, the experience was quite underwhelming. We booked what was described as a double family room, but it was just a standard room with two double beds. There was nothing particularly spacious or family-focused about it. At £265 per night, I expected a much higher standard. The hotel felt tired and clearly in need of investment, especially considering the reputation usually associated with Hilton. The spa was a major letdown. The steam room was out of order during our stay, which we weren’t informed about in advance. The overall facilities felt more like a local leisure centre than a four-star hotel. The changing rooms were small and dated, a tap was broken, the toilets were not clean, and basic toiletries like body wash and lotion were missing. I was told they were waiting on a delivery. I even had to leave the spa to go to the gym reception to ask for basic items. There was a clear lack of attention to detail. I chose Hilton expecting a certain level of comfort and quality, but this hotel did not deliver. What was meant to be a treat for my family ended up being a disappointment. For the price we paid, it simply wasn’t worth it. Expedia you described as luxury, you should check in future

Read this before going

Room cost us £167 for one night, we never had any shower gel and TV channels were not working at all. There was no parking for visitors so you have to park at NCP carpark which will cost you £30 for 24hrs. Other than that staff were great, swimming pool, hot tub and jacuzzi were awesome

Overall the hotel, staff and facilities were excellent. Unfortunately in the room next to us there were children staying in a room without an adult present and they were causing a lot of noise, running around the corridors and in and out of the room slamming the door until late. There was also a dog in the room which was barking and therefore we did not have the best sleep, I didn’t know they allowed dogs to stay

Dreamy pillows!!

I absolutely love this hotel from the moment I walked in to waking up in the morning. Everybody couldn't do enough for you. The breakfasts were outstanding and the beds were fabulous. Not to mention the pillows which were out of this world. I need a set!!!

We were unfortunate enough to have a horrible interaction with a random person who was "on something" whilst using the indoor swimming pool. Somehow, he'd navigated his way from the street, past security, through the swimming pool/spa front desk and directly to the poolside. I had my 6 year old daughter with me and he walked straight up to my face as we were getting out of the pool. It was incredibly intimidating and when i complained the hotel about their lack of care, they offered me £30 discount off the room. Appalling. They also over charged us for dinner by mistake and one of their porters randomly let himself into our room whilst my wife was getting changed to bring us "the shower gel we asked for" that we didn't ask for. The air con was broken in the room on a boiling hot day. Overall, a disaster. Don't stay here with kids as they can't protect their own pool area.

I'm a regular at the Hilton, but this is the first time I've left more tired than when I arrived. We had room 437 and oh my goodness it was awful for external noise. The double fire doors just kept banging and I mean wall shaking and bed rumbling, this lasted all evening and throughout the night. I was nodding off only to br abruptly awoken with very loud bangs, as someone with a heart condition this was unsettling. It resulted in me sleeping with earbuds and forest sounds just to save from jumping out of my skin. The bathroom door doesn't close and stay closed unlesa you really push hard. The handrail to the shower was very loose, the hand cream dispenser isnfalling off the wall which looks to have been fixed to the wall multiple times. The hook on the back of the door was also wobbling. The carpet was threaded rather badly. Everything else was great as always, the staff are always amazing but this stay really left me exhausted which isn’t great.

Wow, what a stay!

The staff at this hotel were amazing! It was our son’s birthday and the guest services manager Rachel went above and beyond by filling the room with surprises for him! He was absolutely delighted and so was his sister, as there were plenty of treats to share, plus a bottle of Prosecco for us! The room itself was spacious for the 4 of us, and very clean and well equipped. We had an issue with aircon but this was reported and someone was sent to try and sort it. Unfortunately they couldn’t before we left, but we were given a discount on our bill. The pool facilities were fab, very clean and lots of options like a hot tub, sauna and steam room! Plus, there were plenty of fresh towels. The breakfast buffet was fresh, varied and all allergens identified which was great as our daughter can’t have milk. Every staff member we encountered was so friendly and smiley which makes all the difference! We would definitely stay again and recommend it to anyone.

The first day.. The front management was very professional but My room had water on the carpet when I first checked In. House keeping brought 2 towels and put on the spots, but made no effort to dry them. A 2nd time they were called and house keeping brought 2 towels and made no attempt to dry . A 3rd time management came to dry the spots . The service in the restaurant was very slow, as they apparently forgot to attend to me after my order .. The office staff Deborah and Reuinsi were very kind and professional. But it should not have taken 3 attempts and managers to get water up.
