The staff was friendly but unfortunately, in one of the two rooms that I booked, my son found a bed bug. I shared this with their management team and they said they would address the situation. Clearly not desirable.

The property is close to the Central station. The hotel has very steep steps and the rooms are small. This hotel is okay if you’re staying for a short stay & not looking for luxury. The room does not have much space for storage or hanging your clothes The reception staff were very helpful, but think twice if you have any mobility issues for this accommodation.

Good location with challenging access

Ciao Papa is a small hotel that occupies upper floors of a building a short walk from the central train station of Amsterdam. The area is pleasant, has many dining options, and is near other sites like the Dam Square area. The hotel has older but well-maintained rooms with up-to-date bathrooms. It is well air conditioned. The staff is always available and is helpful. Our main issue as older travelers was the steep, narrow, and even curved stairs one must negotiate to get to the office and then to a room. If you are nimble and your luggage is not bulky, you’ll be fine.

Room condition is bad. They don't have a proper bed, it's a sofa bed with a dirty and piling mattress placed on the top. Wall has visible stains and water damage marks. Clearly lack of proper mantenance and cleanliness.

The location of Ciao Papa Hotel Amsterdam Central Station is good, but the stairs inside the hotel are very narrow and the rooms are extremely small without a private bathroom. If you have luggage or mobility issues, it will be very hard to stay here.

This is the worst hotel I have stayed my whole life. I booked it because of their ideal location but its a tourist trap. No elevators and you have to climb (my case) 4 stories in a narrow and steep stairs with luggage. Room is so small that there is only space for your bed with the worst: bedbugs (check other reviews). Price is too high for such a bad experience. Please do your self a favor don’t book this

OMG ! one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. Place was dirty and unkempt everywhere the rooms are tiny beyond belief, light fittings were hanging off the wall !,the laminate coating was peeling off the floor,moths had been eating holes in the curtains! And last but no means least was the shower only got lukewarm and was also ready at any time to come off the wall ,bloody disgrace.

The location was great, short walk from train station, close to sightseeing attractions and red light district. Lots of stairs to get to lobby and rooms but staff was helpful with luggage. Small clean rooms. Staff insisted on daily room cleaning all spare towels and sheets were clogging up halls during cleaning time. It made it difficult to get in and out of our room. We enjoyed having a room Juliet balcony looking over the street although it appears Amsterdam is a city that never sleeps.

We stayed for 2 nights whilst in Amsterdam. Less than a 10 minute walk from central station, and 5 minutes to damrak square. Lovely places to eat, drink and shop nearby. Even though a busy street outside, you could hardly hear a thing. We have were lucky to have one of the larger double rooms (304) so had plenty of space, great size en-suite (would say the shower screen needs to just be a little bit bigger so the whole floor doesn’t get wet), but clean and comfy bed. Reception staff were always friendly. When coming back to Amsterdam, I would definitely stay here again and would recommend to others.
