Dear Expedia Support,
I am requesting a refund for my recent stay at The Vacation Village because of the unacceptable condition of the first room we were given. My family and I had been at an amusement park all day and didn’t return to the hotel until around midnight. Upon entering our room, we immediately noticed broken glass on the table, several lighters with black residue on them, open cabinets, and bags of belongings scattered around.
It was clear that the room had not been cleaned or properly prepared for guests. I contacted the front desk right away and was eventually moved to another room, but the entire process took over an hour. By the time we were finally settled, it was after 3:00 a.m. We had to check out at 9:00 a.m., so we barely got any rest after a long day.
When I spoke with staff in the morning, I was told that they couldn’t process a refund because the reservation was made through Expedia. Given the condition of the first room and the significant inconvenience caused, I believe a refund is fair and appropriate.
