Property was not bad, beds were comfortable abd location was convenient. However, on our second morning the phone rang at 6:30AM waking me and my son up.
It was the front desk claiming some detector was going off indicating we were smoking in our room. Explained that we neither of us were smokers and no one was smoking in the room. I asked them to come up to verify we were not smoking but they just kept saying we were smoking and there would be a charge. Again asked them to come verify we were NOT smoking and the clerk replied with "Whatever" and hung up .
The power was out that night for 5 hours plus with no emergency lighting in the hallways. No updates on what was going on. Fire alarm went off in the middle. They silenced the audible alarm but strobes in the hallway continued to flash and were still flashing when we checked out early the next morning.
Asked at checkout for them to confirm we would not be charged for smoking and was told they would have to talk to the manager who wasn't in yet. No follow up and a charge was on my credit card. Tried to call to talk to a manager when I got home and told no manager was in and they didn't know when they would be
Called the parent company and opened a ticket with them. They said the general manager would be notified. I asked when I could expect to hear back. They said they didn't know.
Resorting to dispute the charge on my cc with my cc company as I don't know what other option I have at this point.
