Very Good

The room (97) was on the top floor and had a unique layout- bathroom, table and chairs, closet, hall on one level, then stairs up to the bedroom with railings all around and a very uneven ceiling, low in places. It was fancier than I expected, with large windows, interesting glass light fixtures and displays, and ample clean bedding and towels. The bathroom was comfortable.
Best of all: The location was fabulous. We were absolutely thrilled to be able to run back to the room in between museums and meals to rest, snack, drop off purchases, etc. Being so close to so much of Venice was a real treat.
All that being said, as other reviewers mentioned, be prepared for stairs, lots of stairs. I knew there would be, and we managed, but it was still a lot. I think there are nearly 60 to the top floor. There's also noisy construction going on in the next building, and the workers smoked constantly at the hotel door, so that smell got in more often than not. I'm glad we had some distance from that by climbing up so many floors, even if the stairs were tiring. The room smelled fine. I'd stay here again.
