Close to Downtown but would not stay again

Pros: It is very close to downtown and is a stop on the hop on/hop off bus tour. There is a small market right across the street. The view of the city was good. The walk to the sea wall trail is not far. Cons: Very old, needs to be remodeled, homeless people all around outside. The elevator stopped working while we were in it and notified us to sound the alarm. Luckily, the doors still opened, and we could get out, but the stairs are useless for getting to your room as the doors are locked to all floors except the lobby. The air conditioner was completely ineffective and did not cool the room. We had to open the windows and door to the balcony. The beds are doubles, not queens, so they are very small. I would stay somewhere else if at all possible. I would not return here.

I spent one night at this hotel for a birthday and, as expected, had a few friends over before heading out to Granville. The hotel staff watched us let friends in without saying anything, and then later charged an extra $300 without warning. Definitely not a hotel to stay at if you’re celebrating a birthday or planning to have friends over before going out. I do not recommend it unless you’re willing to risk paying unexpected extra charges.

Close to Rogers Arena.

Basic hotel. Spacious and clean. Walking distance to Rogers Arena. Expect noise from streets if staying on weekends. Parking costs extra. We stayed in king suite with hide a bed. Had microwave and fridge but fridge was not cold enough. King bed comfortable and hide a bed was average. Be nice if balcony had a couple chairs to sit on. Overall acceptable stay for 2 nights. 35 minute walk to Stanley Park or Canada Place.

When I booked the Hotel through Expedia, the price each night is US$ 300, but when I checked in, the receptionist charged me different, she charged on Jun 5 is Can.$ 337.20, Jun. 6 Can.$434.20 and Jun.7 is $462.20 (Canada). The room service is good, but don’t have water or coffee in room for customers

Kind staff, clean rooms if getting a bit dated. Hotel is within walking distance to restaurants and playgrounds. The neighborhood requires some vigilance at night and in the early morning.
