The thing that stood out to us was the staff and how well dressed and respectful and helpful they were also the care and ambience of the hotel was very luxurious. There is a whole other city below Toronto which we access from the Fairmont! The metro system was easy to use as well.

Overrated and very overpriced

The lobby was incredibly grand as one would expect from a classic old hotel…just beautiful! Warm dim lighting, dark wood features made it feel so old world. The pool was also beautiful. But unfortunately, that’s where the good stops. The rooms are as basic as you can get, and very small. The bathroom is very tight. In fact, the toilet is exactly what you would see in a public restroom..seriously! They are stuck in the past. Don’t expect USB charging ports…don’t exist. King size bed? Nope. The only modern factor was the LG tv, but with basic cable. WiFi is not free…$16/day. Even the thermostat is ancient…something you’d see in your grandparents house. If you enjoy modern tech conveniences in your room, this is not the place for you. But if you enjoy the grandeur of a classic old world hotel, definitely visit. Just spend the night somewhere else.

My room had a bugs crawling on the pillow. I have the video and I showed the manager. I sent him the video as well as his request. He said prior moving me from my room he will send a team to make a full room investigation to see if there are more. which was fine. No one ever came. The next day I woke up with more bugs in my bed that I have squashed while sleeping.
