I checked myself in to avoid a long line. My room was drafty from an old balcony door. I had to crank the heat which dried out the air. I booked the room because an adult pool and hot tub was advertised but when I went to use it I found out the kids pool was closed so the adult facilities were overcrowded with families. Overall my stay was fine but disappointing.

There was a severe draft coming from the sliding door. Had to put blankets ++. Made the stay very uncomfortable. This was explained to staff on leaving and they said because it was booked through Expedia that they could not do anything about it. To me, this is very unprofessional. Considering I spent $10000 there this summer staying there when my son had brain tumor surgery with complications making us stay there for over a month

The Chelsea is overall a fine venue hotel but the heater fan in the room was extremely noisy making it impossible to sleep. The thermostat also didn't work which made the room either too hot or off entirely. The pool and gym facilities upstairs were nice and restaurant had a good variety of options. Location is convenient to Dundas Square and Yonge St. There is some construction on the sidewalks to be aware of. I'm not sure I would recommend this part of Toronto for young children to explore on the street as it has a high amount of active drug use with the aroma quite strong, homelessness, Drug/sex shops. The pool with waterslide is apparently under renovation which hopefully should be nice when it's finished.
