Kildare House Hotel
"It’s ok. Room for first night (ground floor) had no window to outside only onto a corridor (had a curtain!) and thus was dark and stuffy - the fan provided didn’t help. It had a large green emergency light on the ceiling which was not great for trying to sleep. Got switched to a different room on another floor which thankfully had a window in the room and the bathroom- happy days. On arriving at the hotel the door was closed - there was no one on reception to let us in and no signs to give info - had to go around to front of hotel to the bar to tell staff we had arrived. Not a great start. Food in the restaurant in the evening was nice. Breakfast was basic - but the hot options were ok. Was supposed to be ‘pay at the property’ but the money was taken from my card before I arrived ( actually wanted to pay in cash). So a lot of little incidents ( there were others) which didn’t make a comfortable stay. It’s ok if you aren’t on the ground floor and would be ok for a quick stop over for a night where you wouldn’t need to spend much time in the hotel. Oh and there is very little parking."
