Please be aware this "hotel" is actually rooms above a bar / terrace restaurant and above a bottle shop / liquor store. It is also very near the airport and within the exit / arrival flight path so you can hear flights regularly. We stayed in the accomodation. The accomodation itself was great in terms of cleanliness, clearly appeared refurbished had AC and great walk-in shower. Whilst the room quality was pleasant, the location for the rooms is a big issue. The hotel is on the corner of a main road serving the airport and various industrial businesses. Unfortunately, the rooms look out onto the first floor terrace bar / restaurant, and the windows do nothing for noise damping and through the split AC unit. This was really difficult on weekends as the terrace is effectively a loud music night and this went on until 11pm. However, we were pleased that the noise did stop at this point, respecting guests, but I'm not totally convinced this would always be the case, especially in busy months / seasons. We did hear some *adult activities* - the walls really are thin. I don't recommend bringing a family here but for mature adults / travellers it was fairly reasonable on a budget if you need a few nights and a comfortable bed (just bring some earplugs). Southern Cross, maybe invest in some new windows / sound proofing to mitigate the outside sound issue - would make a big difference.

The individual rooms and the bathroom was fairly small but as I was by myself this was easy enough to navigate. All the staff I dealt with were excellent. The actual pub has plenty of options for drinking and dining, including a good sportsbar set up.

I liked my stay at the Southern Cross hotel the the freindly and helpful staff was a1 service the rooms was clean and comfortable the only thing the hotel should have a drink machine in the hotel because there no fridge in the room i woke up in the middle of the night and i walked down to bp services station to get a cold drink .part from that i happy with every thing thank you

We were disappointed that the location is surrounded by a large container business, with semi's coming and going 24/7. This created noise all night. The room was comfortable enough, very small and the bathroom was 'different' The shower seemed to be recently renovated, but to fit all the essentials in the vanity was located inside the shower cubicle, and to get into the shower the door opened inwards and just missed the vanity by millimetres. I was able to squeeze my way around the VERY tight space to actually have a shower, my husband had no chance to get in and use the shower. Thankfully we were only overnighting to catch a 6.30am flight interstate. No complaints re the staff, very nice and helpful, meal at the Bistro downstairs also quite good. But the bathroom situation is ridiculous. We won't be returning.
