Very close to Central Station which made it very easy for our commute. Quiet, safe, bed comfortable, had all we needed. Close to what we needed. Could do with new cups and saucers, same stained.

DON’T DO IT! This place is not worth it! Our room had “just been cleaned” and it smelled like they had fumigated it with the cheapest toilet spray they could find. We opened the door to the balcony for fresh air to find it was completely flooded, adding to the disappointment realising we didn’t pack gumboots to actually use the balcony. Plus, the smell still lingered. The ‘gym’ is a dark room with 3 pieces of cardio equipment that looks like they were found on a kerbside bin collection, and to think the smell problem couldn’t get any worse, it smelled like a flooded basement with rotting 50y/o shagpile carpet. There would have been more mold spores in that room than the population of Sydney. We went to speak to management (note: even the lift smelled putrid), who did offer us another room but the smell of that bargain bin dollar store ‘air freshener’ was thick in this room too, and we couldn’t stay here. We offered to pay for the first night or a cleaning fee but they offered 1/3 of our money back. I mean it was better than the throbbing headaches we had from the dank smells in this joint. The place is so run down and they don’t have housekeeping. The location was perfect though, a short walk to book and stay at the Mercure (highly recommend!) Hopefully this review can entice them to check the used by date on their knock-off Glen20; like what actual smells are you hiding?! Who died here?! Oh and remove any mention of a ‘gym’, it is beyond laughable!

Excellent rooms.
Large room, plenty of space. Nice small kitchen but adequate. Beds are very comfortable. Good location for tram, trains and Chinatown. Would probably stay there again.

Stay away
I'll start by saying that Sydney is an expensive city, and so are probably the hotels, especially during the Chinese New Year when the city is full of tourists. After this introduction, I will say that there is no excuse in the world for such a low value we received in this hotel for more than 300 dollars a night!! Already upon arrival, we entered a smelly room, which did not surprise us so much, since the elevator and the corridor also smelled of human urine. With a direct connection or not, the room was also filthy - stains on the walls, mold in the shower and in the air conditioner, a ragged and shabby carpet and a balcony so neglected (why for God's sake? there is already a balcony in the room. What's the problem with putting some synthetic grass to cover the ugly floor and a small hole to drain the water?!). The double bed we ordered was two single beds pushed together, and that's without saying a word about how uncomfortable the bed is and broke our backs for three nights!! **probably needless to say, no cleaner bothered to come near our room for three nights (is it real that we pay 300 dollars a night and they don't even make our sheets??). To sum it up, in all my years I don't think I've come across a hotel so neglected and wretched, that in no situation does it justify even a quarter of the price they charge for it. Stay away as much as possible!! PS: The guy at the reception was nice. This is the only kind word that can be said about this stay
