Barakee Creek - The Old Shack

El Antiguo Shack - es un auto atendido casa de campo y ha sido reformado con una abundancia de carácter único para las parejas a sentarse y relajarse, reducir la velocidad y relajarse. Está lleno de muebles y accesorios hechos a mano en el lugar de los materiales recuperados. Ubicado en 26 acres ubicado en su propio valle con Cattai Creek a través de meandros, sólo hay una casa de invitados para que pueda estar seguro de su privacidad. (lo siento no hay niños o mascotas)
 
La Cabaña vieja fue construida alrededor de 1890 por el primer propietario. Fue construido principalmente de materiales que se encuentran en la piedra arenisca de la propiedad, los escombros de las paredes y postes redondos para la estructura del techo. Poco a poco cayó en mal estado como consecuencia de los daños de termitas, el fuego y el desuso.

Durante los primeros diez años de nuestra propiedad el Antiguo Shack fue deteriorando, con grandes grietas en las paredes de piedra, y los agujeros en el techo corrugado oxidado. Las reparaciones comenzaron con la intención de albergar las chooks y almacenar heno. A medida que las reformas tuvieron lugar nos dieron un poco llevar, creando el retiro distintivo que se ve hoy en día. Nosotros siempre hemos llamado 'The Old Shack' así que supongo que el nombre se quedará.

Ubicación

La cabaña vieja se encuentra en Cattai, Nueva Gales del Sur en la sección de marea de Cattai Creek aproximadamente 60 minutos al noroeste de Sydney. Está situado en 26 hectáreas en un valle muy privado con un corto paseo hasta el muelle y senderos arbusto. El acceso a la quebrada de kayaks / canoas es por una suave rampa. Se trata de un corto (4km) paddle aguas abajo hasta el río Hawkesbury, donde podrá realizar un picnic en el parque nacional Cattai. El arroyo tiene una zona de velocidad 4 nudo que asegura remeros no están perturbados por exceso de velocidad moto acuática.

El acceso de vehículos - Hay unos 800 metros de mantenido camino de grava a la cabaña vieja que es adecuado para todos los vehículos estándar.

el acceso en barco - Puede acceder a la cabaña vieja con su propio barco (altura restringida 1. 4m con la marea alta en el puente de Cattai en Wisemans Ferry Road), a 16 km de Windsor rampa del barco, a 69 km Wisemans Ferry rampa para botes y 125 km Berowra Waters rampa del barco .

Tenemos un televisor para ver películas en DVD (con recepción de TV limitada). Hay DVDs, juegos de mesa y un montón de libros y revistas para su disfrute. Si usted es el tipo que no puede quedarse quieto se puede tomar la canoa para una paleta o seguir las pistas aunque arbusto nativo intacto. Visite los parques nacionales locales, hay grandes unidades alrededor de la zona del río Hawkesbury, visitar algunos sitios históricos, navegar por las tiendas tienen un helado, disfrutar de un capuchino o jugar al golf en los campos de golf locales.

Superb getaway

What a find, The Old Shack is only an hour from Sydney. It’s secluded, so private & buried in nature. Just superb. Mark & Judith are amazing hosts, the shack is fully equipped, the hot tub fueled by wood fire is wonderful & the river offers time for paddling. Amazing, you have to try The Old Shack out for yourself!

Second visit, just as good as the first!

This is our favourite stayz, very well equipped, beautiful surroundings, super clean and tidy and very private.We had fun playing badminton and made our own pizzas this time. The pool/spa is great and there's so much to do here.Can't wait to visit again!

Lovely place to chill

Great beds, bathroom and location near the river. No internet though if that's important to you. Virtually no mobile service. Spent 6 hours trying to heat up the hot tub to no avail. Would be better if it was gas or electrical rather than having to build a fire and constantly monitor it. Hosts are lovely and provided a beautiful chocolate cake for free.

Amazing!

What a perfect place to relax and recharge, The Old Shack was just what we needed. Everything you could possibly need has been thought of but the highlight was definitely the Wood Fired Pool. It took a few hours to get the temperature up but it was worth the wait. The craftsmanship and ingenuity shown in the construction of the cottage was impressive and it was so thoughtfully decorated. Thank you for the complimentary Chocolate Cake, it was the best we’ve ever had!! Although we didn’t make use of the boat or canoe this time, we’re planning to return and hope to use them next time. We loved just sitting on the wharf by the water, listening to the sounds of the bush…. Thank you Judith and Mark for sharing your beautiful property with us.

Great get away spot, very secluded. Makes you feel like you’re truly living in a rainforest

Such a beautiful experience, it was so amazing being able to wake up in the morning making myself and my husband a coffee and going outside to watch the sunrise and listen to all the beautiful birds and other woodland creatures waking up and singing their beautiful songs. Definitely will be visiting again!

A perfect place to escape to and unwind.

This cottage is a perfect hide away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Every part of the cottage has been thoughtfully created to provide a peaceful experience where you can truly unwind and relax. Stunning place for a short break

This was the long weekend away that we dreamed of - gorgeous setting, beautiful property and everything inside it presented and organised to exceptional quality. Everything was done to make us feel entirely comfortable. The hot tub was a big effort on the first day (would recommend 6 hours) but totally worth it. And the chocolate cake was superb, thank you Judith!

Suprise gem

Our stay at The Old Shack was organised by our daughters as a birthday treat for my husband and self. We set off with trepidation, resigned to our enforced outward bound treat. Our pessimism was short lived as we spied the charming cottage and its natural bush and river surroundings. We were warmly welcomed by Judith who explained and demonstrated the well thought out comforts and thoughtful inclusions of this unique historical cottage. My builder husband was enthralled, continually marvelling at the detailed craftsmanship and ingenuity of the interior. We settled in quickly to begin a most enjoyable weekend of inside and outside activities especially appreciating the resident wildlife, relaxing plunge pool and warm inviting open fire. On return home, I challenged myself to think what forgotten inclusion would have earned a 100% perfect score and was unable to think of a thing! So, it will hopefully be a case of many happy returns for our next birthday treat.
