This is my go-to hotel when traveling to NYC. It's less than an hour to Manhattan on most days/times and is the best hotel in the group just outside of the NYC-hotel-price-explosion border. I've stayed here many times and all have been a 4/5 or 5/5 stay. The rooms are very clean by most people's standards and perfectly adequate by neat-freak standards. I've never been kept awake by noise in the halls or other rooms. The WiFi is fast and free, the parking's super easy at any time of the day or night, and there are plenty of restaurants, diners, pharmacies, and cafes within a 5-10 minute drive. It's a good spot and I'll continue to go here as long as the price remains reasonable.

Quite a disappointment from the previous weekend. Issue 1: Requested same room (321) I had the week before. Did not get. Placed in room across from closed pool. Issue 2: The remote for the TV did not work. No one at desk to get replacement and/or new batteries. My wife finally found Chris, who was off dealing with another issue. Issue 3: The closet door/mirror came off its hinges when my wife tried to open it. Fortunately, I am a former weightlifter, otherwise my wife would have been pinned against the wall. Big disappointment from our visit here the week before.

That Friday night , my daughter got rushed to the hospital and I was unable to go on vacation and stay at the hotel. I made several attempts by phone and online to cancel my hotel reservation with no success whatsoever. The customer service is awful. I left with the impression that no one cares about my needs , regardless of what happens.

Hampton Inns but just not this one…

We love Hampton Inns and stay there often but this particular one is in need of a rehab. The lobby was nice and the desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was another story. When we walked in we were immediately met with the smell of cheap motel rooms. The couch and the carpet were visibly old and stained. The carpets in the corridors were shabby. Some furnishings had been updated but just like in the 70s-80s there were few electrical outlets. You get the idea. It just needs a significant redo.

The king size bed mattress needed to be replaced, it was sunk on both sides. I had to sleep in the middle. One side of the toaster didn’t work creating a line. To get decaf coffee I had to go out into the lobby as it was not in the breakfast area. The potatoes and sausage patties were not too appetizing, pale and undercooked.
