The only problem we encountered was the dryer breaking down and the repair person was unavailable to fix it during our stay. However, we did enjoy our stay.

Our Recent Stay
We were very unhappy with our recent stay. Bugs and dirt (roach droppings) in the kitchen drawers and the bathroom was never cleaned - the toilet had dirt all around the base, truly disgusting. I would be glad to submit pictures as this is the second year we have been deeply disappointed and it seems it is getting worse every year.

It wasn't as clean as in the past. I had to was several pan's and the blender before I could use it. The kitchen counter wasn't as clean as it had been in the past. Also there was a large black hair sticking to the master shower wall! Another sign that the housekeeping aspects fell short.
The Biggest issue came up when I noticed when I turned on the kitchen light one night to get a drink and several brown bugs went scampering to get out of the light and went between the cabinets and the refrigerator! That was gross. It happen the last night of my stay when I turned on the kitchen light about 4am and I saw bugs running into the dark between the sink counter and the cabinets!
The pool area(s) were very nice as was the board walk area!
Even with the cleaning & bug issues; overall had a good week!

Been an owner for many years. Never had so many concerns than this past week. Roaches, bed frame broken in primary (creaks and makes horrible noise when getting in or moving in bed), mattress already feels worn (thought it was replaced recently, mattress condition could be related to old box springs), middle of trip beach gate code changed without notice, dryer does not function properly (need two cycles to dry clothes), vacuum cleaner doesn't function properly, coffee maker, dishwasher function but very outdated, floors were swept but not clean, silverware had stains and dried food. This is an investment for owners. I'm not sure how the others think but I'd be willing to pay a special assessment to have some upgrades and better housekeeping. I would guess the duct work hasn't been cleaned in years, if ever, same for the windows/sliding doors. Get it together please. Spoke with other owners this week and everyone feels the same…. Upgrades and cleanliness are in serious need!!

Feedback for HIB/St Aug
1st off I am appreciative that me and my disabled sister were allowed to switch from E204 to F102 however on the downside we were not made aware of the 7 member family that would be in the room above us which consisted of 4 boys under the age of 12. The boys showed no respect, except for the youngest, and were always fighting. I love cooking on the grill. All 3 of the grills are the grimiest I have ever seen and none are operable. I played hell getting the one by the 2nd pool to start and it was covered on old tinfoil. There was a busted pipe by the pool. It took days to turn off the water and 2 days before the outside showers were working. The pool was not being cleaned. Every morning it was covered in bugs. Lastly, I have been coming down to Hibiscus since 1983 and it appears the stove, dishwasher and washer/dryer have not been replaced in many many years. I am hoping the renovations will take care of this? If not they seriously need to be replaced. The only reason I gave a Fair rating is because the ocean and the weather were beautiful.

My wife was not impressed as the complex is showing its age. Subpar or lack of maintenance was seen in many areas. Privacy fencing dilapidated & falling over, siding missing on some buildings, 1/4" lag bolts were used in an ugly attempt to 'fix' trim around the patio doors, wood posts showing signs or deterioration around the pool, artwork missing inside the condo with screws sticking out of the drywall, rotting wooden railing 'fixed' by screwing composite deck boards on top of it instead of actually replacing it. She had several more negative comments, but I was trying to enjoy dinner last night as she was telling everything wrong about the stay to her Mom.
They both told me - you get what you pay for.

Nice Condo for the price. It's an older unit but clean. They did add an Echo unit that was an upgrade! We used it like our Home Unit to get information like the Weather, play music and to ask about local events and various destinations, etc. We have been coming to St. Augustine for years and have stayed in this Condo Unit for about 12 years.its my understanding that they are going to upgrade the living room furniture and replace the stairs and railings. Look forward to seeing these upgrades next year!

I have been a Time share owner at Hibiscus since 1983 when it first opened and I have used my week in October since day one. I love it there and I enjoy my weekly time each year. Some of the owners that I met in 1983 are coming also and it is like old home week. The condo and the staff are the tops for me. Look forward to my visit every year. Wouldn't change a thing!!! Everyone is so accomadating. Thank you.

We enjoyed our stay at Ocean Hibiscus. The unit was a good size and the kitchen was nicely equipped. The pools were beautiful, the beach was great, and the beach was fantastic. Here's the big BUT.
The unit had not been properly cleaned. The floor was very gritty, and my feet were black walking barefoot in the unit. Fortunately, there was a vacuum cleaner in the closet as well as a microfiber mop. I used both to somewhat clean the floor. It really needed a good washing. There was dust on the bedside tables as well as the mantle. I did not dust them. Going on vacation, I did not expect to do house cleaning. Very disappointing. I also did find two multi-legged critters crawling. One was in the guest bathroom and disappeared before I could aprehend it. The other MUCH larger one was on the wall near the front door. I dispatched it by using a shoe to squash it.
That said, we would trade there again if the cleanliness could be assured.I understand there is trouble finding good employees, but things need to be checked prior to occupance. All things considered, we had a relaxing time.
