Highly enjoyed the complimentary wine & cheese and warm cookies at night. The rooms were very quaint, attractively decorated and the bed linens were very comfortable. The staff was mostly friendly, helpful and attentive. I would have liked an offer of more fresh towels even if I turned down housekeeping. Needed water bottles in the rooms, and where was the ice?

The building is an old, rustic piece of history. It is quaint and centrally located to dining and landmarks. However, I had trouble keeping the room cool (A/C issue) and couple of cosmetic issues were noticed (toilet paper roller coming loose from the wall, mattress was sunken in the middle, and there was no mini-fridge to keep drinks). I could say more but want to keep it short. On a positive note, the staff was friendly and helpful when trying to find places to visit. And I never complained to the staff, which might have made a difference with issues noticed by me and my wife.

Great location
The staff was friendly and accommodating. It’s in a great location in the historic district. Our room had a very strong, musty smell, and the old bed frames need to be changed out. Very squeaky. Every time you roll over, the bed squeaked. May or may not stay here in the future if we come back.

Short visit to Savannah
All of the staff was very friendly, helpful and professional. The location is great and we had the option to valet or self park with the parking deck right across the street. The hotel lobby was inviting with an afternoon complimentary wine and cheese Happy Hour served by a delightful bartender and we were serenaded by a charming piano player. The hotel facility is showing wear and tear and really needs refreshing! Unfortunately our last night the air conditioning went out and it became uncomfortable. Hoping they will do some remodeling soon!!!

Checked in on a Thursday and checked out two hours later after finding another hotel to stay in. When I entered the lobby there was a smell of mildew, and the main lobby was potpourri of different furniture that seemed to be randomly put there. When the front desk person checked me in he said there would not be housekeeping services, but if we wanted them to call in the morning and get on the list, or let them know if we needed towels. The room wasn’t what the pictures on Expedia portrayed, it was grimy and musty smelling, there was some poor patchwork on one of the bathroom walls as well. When I went back and told the front desk person I wasn’t happy and that we were checking out, he didn’t ask why, or if there was anything he could do, he simply asked for my name and number and said the manager would have to call me and issue the refund tomorrow, which she promptly did with no questions asked. I’m only writing this review so that someone else’s trip isn’t interrupted trying to find a nicer hotel for the same price.

The location is amazing. But the property is run down. Our room had a heavy odor-smelled strongly like paint. But the paint was chipping. The only reason I didn’t ask for another room is because we were only staying one night.

Dated, but a nice hotel for a budget friendly trip
Although the hotel itself is dated the proximity and price are spot on. We were within walking distance of all of the hot spots except for Forsyth park which was an easy bus ride. The hotel room is dated with chipping paint, old furniture, old carpet and fixtures; however it goes well with the old style of the city. The bed is squeaky and there was no fridge which was an oversight on my part. Overall for a budget hotel this is a nice place. The staff are very friendly and help out as much as you need. It was also kind of a pain to have to go tot eh lobby for ice. Valet was nice as well but pricey.

The property is conveniently located to the river front. Shopping and eateries plentiful. Front desk is extremely helpful with reserving carriage rides, taxi, restaurant choices. Happy hour with live pianists daily. And a warm cookie before retiring for the day.

Mattress was broken - springs must have been crushed or was old - very noisy every time you moved - made complaint to desk and they told me all the mattresses are the same . Was supposed to stay 4 nights - left the next day - Parking garage next door was very noisy until late hours of the night only to be awoke the next morning at 6:30am due to construction on garage . Very unhappy - they did refund my money for days not used
