For the 2nd time at least, my credit card (tho’ was fine when booking online 2 days earlier) was rejected at reception. No reason provided. Machine repeatedly said recarga (recharge) which meant “rejected” according to them. I believe that indicates signal problem. After 2 long flights (20 hrs+ travel) and only 1 credit card this was difficult to deal with. This was especially as credit card used just fine both before and after this without issue. Reception mentioned another card on file which I’d said cancelled due to fraud so then told had to pay extra 20% if use debit card (Aust). Waiting around frustrating when booking accepted w credit card and no solution offered when issue not caused by me. Tired, motion sickness so hard to think.
Reception polite and accommodating, got another staff who suggested solution which rebook to lesser room (as nonrefundable) and slightly higher cost though evened w breakfast included. This was appreciated But I believe if credit card just put through with better wifi it would work. My bank confirmed no card error.
