Although this is a very 'corporate' hotel, we really enjoyed our stay. Very clean, breakfast was good and the bar prices were good value. The staff were all very helpful, especially the young barman in the evenings.

No serious issues but definitely a case of you get what you pay for. I stayed three nights and each night it sounded like people in rooms above and beside me were either smashing furniture or throwing suitcases across the room. This wasn’t the fault of the hotel and possibly a rare occurrence.

This set the tone for our exploration of this grand and historic accommodation. The public lounges are exquisite, and the library is full of old-world charm. The gardens are moody and extensive, well worth a stroll.
We dined in both their restaurants, and the service and food were flawless.
Our reason for visiting Coimbra was to see the historic university. And although the university is exceptional, this hotel stole the show!"
