"We had a lovely time here, this is a beautifully designed home with big sliding doors out to the pool and beach and sweet courtyard beside the stunning staircase ! The rooms are large, the beds are very comfortable. The wind can be very loud in some of the rooms. The kitchen was large, lovely and easy to use, pots were good, lots of tupperwear, knives adequate and lots of cutlery, but not a lot of mixing bowls etc. and not well stocked with food basics. Good to note - there is only a bar to sit at inside with the large table out on the deck - but the wind can make it hard to be outside in the afternoon/evening. The pool was lovely and clean, with lots of natural vegetation, and such a great view of the beach! Also a sweet spot down closer to the beach with a little area and climber for kids to play. It is farther down from the 'beach towns', but close to a little fishing village, with a few fun place to eat nearby. "

"The hotel was perfect location and generally clean and comfortable. My only issue was that on the first night we did not have water. We informed the front desk and she was not helpful and asked to try again in 30 mins. "

"♦️OVERVIEW (Feb 8 - 15, 2026) I would happily stay here again! ❤️ The Hotel Scappata is not a luxury high-end hotel, but it sure tries hard to be! I had absolutely no problems staying here. There were a few minor issues here and there, but I’m not here to complain, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit! I had a generous sized room with a comfortable king-size bed, sofa in an adjoining room (with dresser/drawer), and all the amenities you need; including towels (and beach towels!), stocked mini-fridge (with wine!), coffee-maker, safe, air-conditioning, and wide-screen TV’s—two of ‘em! (but who goes to México to watch TV?) Rates were reasonable and competitive with other hotels in the area. ⦁ A word about noise: It doesn’t matter where you stay. All hotels along the Malecón will have noise; especially in the evenings (from scooters, dogs barking, etc )— although the Hotel Scappata is somewhat quieter than other hotels along the Malecon (due to being further away from the pier). ♦️NOTES • HOTEL SCAPPATA: established in 2022 (formerly the Real del Mar Hotel/Restaurant Pelicano’s) • The hotel’s entrance is actually on the side of the building, on calle 70, but the hotel’s façade & restaurant face the Malecón (Calle 19 x 69/70 Malecon Progreso, Yucatán • The malecón itself is on calle 19 (also known as calle 69) "

"Todo está muy bien , los baños un poco antiguos pero en general todo muy bien , la chica de los masajes es una maga me quito el dolor del nervio ciático , lo único poco mal es que se escucha mucho cuando tienes huéspedes enseguida . "

The room itself was spotless and very well equipped, showing the same level of care and attention. The hotel also has a small pool and convenient parking, which were nice touches. One of our favorite spots was the rooftop terrace. It has comfortable patio furniture and is the perfect place to relax in the evening with a glass of wine and enjoy the warm breeze. Overall, this hotel offers a clean, comfortable stay, but it’s the wonderful staff who really make it memorable. Their kindness and attentiveness are what set this place apart."
