Would'nt stay again

Pros: It was close to beach, restaurants and shopping area.
Cons: Better pictures, description of room. Advertising is mis-leading
Location: Beach, tourist shopping, restaurants
Although hotel is across street from beach most rooms do not face it. Rooms are on floors 2-4. My room; 4th floor had no outside windows, very sad little room. Only overhead light, no bedside lamp, made is even more sad. I left a day early because the in-room experience was depressing. Asked to switch rooms but was told hotel was full although here appeared to be open rooms on lower levels.

Pleasant modest gulf view hotel

Comfortable, well-maintained rooms with balconies providing ocean gulf view but limited services. No telephone in otherwise very nice room. However, room booked through travelocity had no outside window--room window viewed inner hallway-- and was changed to gulf view room for modest supplemental charge. A port city, Progreso is downscale from major area beach resorts, but is pleasant and near Merida, a major city of historical consequence.
