I absolutely loved my stay at this amazing boutique hotel in Rome! My room was spacious and super tidy, making it feel like a cozy home away from home. The location was just perfect—everything you could want was just a short walk away. Extremely good location in the middle of all the major monuments--minutes from the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps, the Vatican and Colosseum are ~30 minute walks (in opposite directions). The staff was fantastic, very accommodating and responsive. If you're looking for a high-end hotel experience, look elsewhere since the building is historic (e.g. janky elevator), but if you're looking for a base to explore the highlights of Rome at a very reasonable price for the area, it's hard to do better.

I was concerned when I saw ear plugs on the night stand. Church bells are awesome, but can be loud. The price of being in a city of churches. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Disappointing stay at what COULD be a lovely place

While the room looked very much as pictured, and the view over San Lorenzo in Lucina was super, the bed was worn to the point of sagging in the center, and unsupportive. The windows had very little sound proofing (though purported to in the advertisement) from the lively square below. We have stayed in other hotels in Rome Center and other cities overlooking piazze which were just as noisy, but the windows were much better fitting for soundproofing. It was very difficult to sleep with the amount of noise from below, as well as the assistant above. It was end of season and not as crowded as high season, so I would imagine even more noise in the busier periods. The bathroom was also outdated with a loose hanging/unstable shower (rather unsafe, actually) that also leaked onto the floor. A new mattress, better window fittings, and shower would make this a comfortable and pleasant stay. As it was, we were very disappointed with this accommodation.
