Good use of Reward Points

A very nice way to use those reward points but probably not a good value if paying cash. I am only a silver member so we did not get the Executive floor mentioned by other reviewers. Our room was an upgrade from our typical 2 and 3 star hotel stays in Europe but not as nice as most U.S Marriott hotels. A typical smallish European sized room with a decent Queen bed but not a pillow top, down comforter type as most U.S. hotels. Nice Italian marble bathroom with full tub, hair dryer, and amenities. Desk, 2 chairs, TV (CNN and BBC only English stations), and wet bar. Prices for meals, drinks, etc. are crazy. $45 for buffet breakfast, $15 a beer. Great location on the Via Veneto. Very helpful staff. Conclusion; A fabulous hotel in a great location if you can stay for free but I think there is better value to be found if you are on any sort of a budget. Platinum reward members should be very pleased.

I loved the hotel

I loved the hotel. I am planning another trip to Rome this summer and hope to stay there again. It is a bit pricey though. The rooms are VERY large, especially by European standards. It was a standard American size Marriott room - so MUCH larger than most other Rome hotels. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Room service was great. View from the roof top restaurant is terrific, but service is HORRIBLE - probably my only complaint during my stay! Front desk very helpful. High speed internet works great. Air conditioning works reasonably well - kept the room at least 68 when the temperature outside was 90 so we were happy - would have preferred colder, but can't have everything :-)

great experience

WE LOVED THE GRAND FLORA. WE BOOKED VERY LATE AND HAD TO SIGN UP FOR A JUNIOR SUITE. I GUESS THEY WERE GONE, SO THE HOTEL GAVE US A PRESIDENTIAL SUITE FOR THE SAME PRICE. BEAUTIFUL, LOTS OF WINDOWS, TWO BATHROOMS, VERY CLEAN AND UPDATED. RIGHT ACROSS FROM THE VILLA BORGHESE. TURNDOWN WITHOUT ASKING. COULDN'T ASK FOR MORE.
