Pros: Good cheap rate
Cons: The hotel could be refurbished. There was a certain smell near the bathroom sink and toilet. I couldn't tell if the water smelled bad or what.....
Location: Good location, easy access to major roads
I had a brief stay but I'm used to staying in nicer hotels so this seemed to be a bit of a risk for me

Musty, Moldy animal smells!

Pros: Nothing
Cons: Update, clean, remove mold and animal smells, replace mattresses, pillows, linens, towels and carpet.
The musty and moldy smells hits you as you walk down the hallway with dogs barking from a number of rooms. The mattress is hard and sheets are thin and barely stay on the bed. The pillows are small hard round balls. There were stains that looked like blood on the towels and they were discolored from washing. The shower curtain was way, way too long for the shower so it puddled on the floor of the shower and was molding. We had very little toilet paper on the one roll in our room and were quickly out of toilet paper. The front desk wouldn't answer so we had to use Kleenex. We would never return to this hotel!

Not a $100 hotel

The bathroom was shabby. Seat was worn through the enamel. Tub was dirty and floor was dis colored and old. The pool was good but looked a little dark.

disappointed will never stay there again

Pros: Nothing
Cons: Update rooms and have the onsite restaurant open.
Location: Not in a nice location.
Carpet was damp, room had not been updated in at least 10 years or more. Furniture was old, bathroom was in need of a overhaul. Would NEVER stay there again. restaurant was closed due to issues.

They are trying but still room for improvement.

Pros: Lobby spacious. Looked liked owner(s) and staff were making improvements.
Cons: Bathroom lighting system. Raise shower curtain rod so you don't bump head and curtain doesn't lay in tub. Changing rooms by pool have no privacy.
Location: Have family in area. Mainly stayed at hotel to have grandkids stay and have pool time.
First appearance is important, and every entrance door had cigarette butts and trash by it. Pool and pool area was nice. Bar and live music was nice to have. We took advantage of the early-bird dinner specials but it took a good hour to be served the food. Better towels in room. Breakfast was okay.

stay away

Pros: Nothing
Cons: Clean it
Room on first floor smelled like an ashtray and hallway was full of trash. Moved to second floor and room did not have a refrigerator. Too disgusted to move again. Came to Illinois to attend Christmas family gathering and unable to stay with planned relative because of their family illness

After touring hotel I decided not to stay. The staff is very nice. I am not sure how things have gone so awry but they have. The lobby is nice and pool area seems fine. The rooms are problem - not cleaned well, decor and drab (bedspreads seem old and unclean - a brighter color and different material would do wonders) and no elevator. I really wanted to like it and wish them well but I fear the business will not survive.

Hotel is attempting to make a comeback.

Pros: Not very much.
Cons: Better all-around quality control.
Location: Location is very handy to South Beloit and the Interstate highway. Nice family restaurant next door.
Refurbishment of this hotel is partially completed. Some issues we experienced were: no breakfast on Friday or Sunday even though it was advertised, pool filter was not functioning, very loud band played across hall from our room late into the night, one member of our party returned to his room and found new occupants in his room.

Thanks for taking the time to place your comments. Unfortunately sometimes when you have a full service hotel with onsite restaurant and bar featuring live entertainment (play until 12:30 am) there can be some disruption. However, we encourage our guests that in any event please notify our front desk and we can change your room if another is available. The pool itself underwent an $80,000 plus renovation and can rest assure has been running upto the State of Illinois standards with routine inspections. In any event we hope that when travelling through S. Beloit you'll give us another change. Thanks. Chad Bryden, General Manager

Typical older Motel

Pros: The bed was comfortable
Cons: Needs more than paint for an update
Location: Nice breakfats place next door
For the price ($125) the weekend i was there, i would have traveled another 20 miles to a better facility had i known. Initial room was not cleaned correctly (dirty towels and used soap on the vanity) and we had to swap it out. The facility is being updated (painted but hardware not replaced), but not very well. For instance, after a shower the paint was bubbling off of the door and when touched it came off. Bath tub & vanity old. Breakfast included but not that good.
