Our room didn't have a kitchen table or chairs to eat at or a chair to sit in while watching television. We only had a pulled out couch for 3 of us to sit on. Breakfast didn't contain any protein and was very limited.

It's a two story building. Do not stay on the bottom floor! You can hear everything from above. They leave ear plugs on the night stand for this reason.

Very friendly people and an enjoyable stay. The continental breakfast was more than adequate and greatly appreciated. The divided site with the highway between makes things tricky, so care must be taken. I really liked the history associated with the place also.

Hard to access office and breakfast - involved cutting across a busy highway. Nice kitchen facilities but only futon to sit on which was very uncomfortable! No soundproofing - could hear every movement from upstairs.

Great location at a great price! We has a studio so had a kitchen to fix meals in. Staff was friendly and courteous. Everything was very clean. Would recommend and would stay there again!

Centrally located with room variety

Great location. The one bed room was like a shoebox and flat pillows. Perks were a small frig & microwave in room and a decent size bathroom with hot water. Breakfast was an assortment of pastries, cold cereal & oatmeal, juice and coffee. The ice chest is tucked into a corner of the common space. I wouldn't stay in a single bed room again. The lodge and cabins were more spacious and some included kitchens. Common fire rings were also available. It's centrally located to places I wanted to visit: Mt Rushmore, Custer State Park, Keystone, and Rapid City for convenience shopping.

Dirty room & rude staff!

Check-in was fine, the young man working was kind & helpful. We arrived late in the evening & our lodge room was located across HWY 16. When we entered the room, we immediately noticed a strong smell (dirty feet) & the room was warm- the AC had not been running. It took a while to get the room cooled down. It was clear that the room had been barely cleaned- tv stand was dusty, remote was filthy, window ledge had dead bugs, loose hairs in the bathroom & in the bed sheets (I actually question if the sheets were clean?!?!), plastic shower curtain liner was dirty & slimy, etc. Because it was late & we had an early morning we decided to just stick it out. When we checked out the next morning we nicely let the staff know about the room conditions & at first they seemed receptive to the feedback, however quickly became annoyed & sarcastically asked if we could "please check over all the rooms for cleanliness before new guests arrive today..." This was a shocking response to some honest feedback of their dirty room, and no offer to discount or compensate us. We come to the Black Hills several times a year (my parents live nearby) and although the location is convenient near family, we will never stay here again. I would not recommend Rockerville to anyone.
