Solid hotel, the Travelocity 4.3 stars feels about right. The staff was very friendly, the breakfast was solid (if crowded and a bit chaotic), and the pool was mostly clean. The bar and restaurant area is calm and pleasant. Cons: the hotel is pet friendly , which was totally fine for us, though you wouldn't want to stay here if you're not a fan of sharing elevators and hallways and entrances with dogs. That being said, a lot of guests had their dogs off their leashes, and it wasn't great navigating the lobby with our small child. Actually felt dangerous at times This is the fault of oblivious guests, of course, but perhaps the hotel could make the leash requirements more clear? We even encountered a dog off-lead at the indoor pool, barking at its people who were merrily splashing away. The dog ran a few circles around the pool before we asked the owners to please remove it. So: good hotel, but not sure if we'd ever return

Residence Inn as a brand is proud of our pet friendliness. That said, there are policies regarding, noise, leash, and acceptable areas of the hotel where pets are allowed. The pool is not one of them. Your experience is not typical. We apologize those pets left you feeling less than valued as a guest. We do hope you will give us another chance when your travels bring you back to Portland.

We had 2 rooms reserved; was to be covered by my sister's Marriott points (she has had the card for years). While enoute to the hotel, my sister noticed an email saying her res was cancelled (!). She got a lengthy call and was told she didn't have enough points for the room and would have to pay (!). Our rationale for the stay was based on the free room. At the hotel, we were told there was no manager with whom to speak...our stay was now to cost @&800 for the 1 night. Key issue: my sister had received a confirmed for her stay with NO indicator there was any issue with her stay. No communication, cancelling her res the day of our arrival by email (!),no senior management at a huge hotel for handling issues (!), a $70 discount as the only resolution? We left...ATROCIOUS. And, the hotel was surrounded by construction with buildings in front of it--"waterfront?" Buyer beware!

The location was fine for restaurants and what we wanted to accomplish in Portland, but the room was very hot and when I reported it they said there was nothing they could do right now. In addition the toilet didn’t flush properly. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable

The cleaning service for the room was terrible. The operation manager was very helpful but housekeeping needs a housecleaning.. the $24 parking was a bit of a surprise I heard folks complain about it. It irked fine for us since there were in and out privileges and being in Old Port. The rest of the visit was good and breakfast was well done.
