And you really don’t need to spend extra on a balcony with a sea view unless you’re someone who spends a lot of time in your hotel room because you get the views from the communal spaces. Having said that, our room was quite dingy and dated with quite an old, thick carpet on the floor that I didn’t want to walk on bare-footed, so it’s a good job we don’t spend much time in hotel rooms! The bed was comfortable and it was superficially clean but daily cleaning wasn’t very thorough - a dirty cup was left for the three days we were there. Breakfast was good and they very kindly allowed us to order room service in the bar. When I didn’t like a cocktail I’d ordered, they didn’t take it off the bill, which surprised me considering it’s a four star hotel. I’d book again, purely for the location."
