The AC in the first room wasn’t working, so I reported it. Someone was sent to fix it, but the issue persisted. I was then moved to another room—only to discover someone’s dirty underwear hanging on the back of the bathroom door, right by the air dryer. When I informed the front desk, they said they couldn’t do anything since I booked through Expedia. Just my luck.

The room was comfortable with double king beds, great for our family. Breakfast was basic, offering only American coffee—cappuccino and espresso cost extra. Sadly, the area is affected by a visible drug scene.

It listed a refrigerator in our room… We did get what I would call a wine chiller… It certainly did not keep anything cold. I certainly would not want to have food in there. Room is very small, but fine for two people. Parking garage is very old with low ceilings and very tight spaces to park. Convenient to walk to the Byward market … lots of restaurants along the way.

Unfortunately our stay was not the best for this hotel. Our fridge in our room did not work upon arrival. This was immediately remedied and maintence did replace it promptly with a new fridge. Unfortunately upon our return on Friday from a day out our room smelled of cigarette smoke and we had to change rooms. This was quite disturbing and concerning to think someone may have entered our room while we were out for the day. Though possible it was from neighbouring rooms. Staff did respond and relocate us promptly. I look forward to returning to Ottawa again however not sure if we would stay at this location in the future.

Carpets in rooms seen better days. Back in the 80’s. Soap dispensers are a pain. lol. Constantly have to keep pulling up the tube where soap comes out. Annoying. Best staff I’ve ever come across in a hotel. Shout out to Gillian.
