Loved that this hotel is directly on the beach; can hear waves crashing at night from the room with a balcony and huge glass doors facing the ocean. Sunset and sunrise views make it incredibly unique and special; VIP lounge in a beach tree! And beach bar with so much vibes there is no need to go anywhere else for fun times. White river is literally steps away and the local fish pot restaurant is awesome. Very safe place! DJ and local restaurant hosting on Saturdays and Sundays. Staff Sarah, Steve, Ingrid, Campbell, all of them are so great! And the breakfast included is unmatched anywhere in the vicinity. There is also lunch and dinner options better than most restaurants you can find. The local vibe and local people cannot be any better anywhere on the island. A Decent Stay with Some Room for Improvement Overall, I had a nice time at Sand and Tan Hotel in Ocho Rios. The room was lovely and comfortable, but a few issues held me back from giving a higher rating. The bathroom could definitely use some updating—the shower knobs were quite stiff, which made it a bit difficult to use. The TV in the room also felt outdated. My biggest concern was the lack of reliable WiFi in the room. I was only able to get full access in the reception area or other communal spaces, which made it difficult to get work done during my stay. On the positive side, the music and general ambiance of the property were great. However, my room was located right beside the speakers, so at times it got a bit too loud for comfort. In terms of safety, I had some concerns about the parking situation. The lot felt too open and lacked adequate security. One night, I had to park near a bushy area with very little lighting, which made me uneasy leaving my car there overnight. Despite these drawbacks, the staff were incredibly friendly and provided excellent customer service throughout my stay. The breakfast was also delicious and a definite highlight of the trip. With a few upgrades and improvements, this hotel has the potential to be a real gem.

The property is located on a beautiful beach. However, I would not recommend these accommodation for anyone who cares about their health or cleanliness. The rooms are mouldy and the dampness is repugnant. The linens are less than fresh and smell as if they were washed in the nearby river. There is barely any water coming out of the shower as the leaks and the tub is slippery and obviously dirty shower curtain with grime and dirt at the end of the shower curtain.
