"When checking in we were told the pool was closed. I specifically booked the hotel because of the pool. Then she caught us as we were leaving to say yes it’s open. Then there was a porter potty next to the pool and it smelled like urine. It was terrible"

"I stayed at this location in June 2026. It is very close to the main gate of Camp Pendleton. If your loved one is closer to another gate, consider a different hotel. My loved one was 45 minutes from this location. Overall, the hotel was clean and the staff friendly and helpful. The hotel gets a lot of traffic, which is evident in the dings and scratches throughout the facility. It is clean. The breakfast was very very good. It is not free but priced similar to nearby restaurants. Insider tip, there is an observation deck on the top floor. The beds and pillows were good. There is a bar but I couldn’t figure out when it was opened. They may want to work on that. The pool is small but I never saw more than 4 people in it so it wasn’t a big deal. You can walk to the harbor down a short path but the hill is kinda steep and the path isolated so don’t go alone at night."

"It’s without a doubt a 10 out of 10 that we wont be staying here again. When I booked this room I read nothing but great reviews, little did I know that if you continue to scroll down you realize that the bad reviews are in the bottom which is why I gave this hotel a 5 star. It took us 20 minutes to check in because we weren’t so sure we wanted to get out of the car and stay the night. If you don’t mind undercover cops circling the hotel, sketchy people, moldy smell coming from the bathroom, baby roaches, low hot water pressure, loud freeway while you’re trying to sleep, being woken up by the police in the intercom and leaving with 3 cop cars next door, than this place is for you."
