"The room was fine. The staff were good except for the front desk. For some reason this hotel has a policy of not letting you check in till exactly 3 o’clock. And even at the stroke of three a person at the counter stayed on a phone call till approximately 10 minutes after. This is very annoying when you just come off of a 4 Hour drive. They also now have a virtual assistant. A machine where you can apparently check in with, but it was not working when I arrived or it was shut down. When it came time to check out, I’ll have to say it was convenient. You look at a screen and it looks like a live body talking to you. Obviously AI. They asked me if I was checking out. I said yes ask me the room number and even though they repeated it back incorrectly, I corrected them and they apologized LOL! It was fairly simple. Also should mention that there are several homeless people that have camped out in the surrounding areas. They have never bothered me, but they are there. Also, along the back end of the hotel, which is along the highway, there is a lot of trash along that area that is very visible from the rooms. This is not their responsibility as it is not their property, but it does look terrible. There are several fast food places within a couple of blocks and there are also plenty of restaurants down Main Street in Oakley."
