Clean and comfortable

I had such a great stay here last week. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. The hotel was modern and clean, the room was spacious, the bed was comfy. There was even a great farmer's market happening right across the street on Friday morning & afternoon, so I walked over and bought some delicious fresh blueberries. There are restaurants within walking distance, and even a little sandwich and coffee shop called Cafe Gabriela on the same block as the hotel, which was convenient for lunch. I'd definitely stay here again if I ever needed to go back to Oakland! The only minor issue I had was the noise from the street (cars/sirens) at night and in the morning while I was trying to sleep, but the guy at the front desk did warn me about that when I was choosing my room. So if you want something quieter, get a room that faces the courtyard instead of the city!

Pretty good alternative to pricey San Fran hotels

Pros: The king suite was good sized.
Cons: Parking is very expensive. A complimentary breakfast would be great.
Location: It's in the middle of Oakland's Chinatown, which was fine.
When traveling with kids or a large family, the important factor is space. The hotel had good room space and comfortable beds so we didn't feel cramped when trying to get out the door in the morning. (The room we had was the king suite. It had a king bed in a separate bedroom, sofa sleeper in the living room, and we asked for a rollaway bed). The hotel is very adequate. The staff was nice and accommodating. The area around the hotel is very urban. Parking costs $30 a day, which wasn't great, but they brought vehicles around very quickly. Overall, I would have us stay there again. It could use a little carpet cleaning in some room areas, but the lobby was nice. No free breakfast, but comfy seating.

Great downtown Oakland experience

The Courtyard Marriott helped make my stay in Oakland carefree and relaxing. The room was large with an extremely comfortable bed. I had wonderful service, from the front desk to the valet. I highly recommend staying here during your Bay Area visit.

Good location. Nice rooms. Nice reception area.

Pros: Location, reception area, nice rooms.
Enjoyed our stay. Steps away from great Chinese restaurants. Large reception area where we could meet with friends and family. Decent hot breakfast and Starbucks coffee.

Trouble with the Manager Julyssa

Pros: Very clean & the beds were very comfortable.
Cons: Getting rid of Julyssa
Location: The bart is near
Found this deal on Travelocity with great ratings, so we booked our reservations here. The first night was very nice, the whole staff working that night was very friendly & very help full. The second night (feb. 14th) we just came back from Touring San Francisco all day & got stuck in 2 hour traffic jam back to the hotel. We were exhausted! We traveled with a 2 year old & 7 year old. As soon as we got in, I let the kids walk around stretching their little legs out, and then gave them a bath. I get a call from the manager & she rudely stated that we got a complaint of being too loud and hung up. Then she sent the security guard up to tell us about their 3 warning limit. I let the security come in so he can see everything & he agreed with me that were not being loud, he didn't even hear anything down the hall. The manager sent him back up 10 minutes later for a 2nd warning. At this time, I am extremely stressed out that we are going to be put out on the streets. I went down to talk to her. She was very rude to us but at the end of our conversation she did tell me that the people whom were complaining were giving her trouble all day and that they were not being reasonable. Long story short, The rest of the night, I had to lay the kids down early and we felt we were walking on pins & needles there. It turned out to be a vacation from hell at the end because of her. She shouldn't be a manager, and I am writing to the hotel directly in hoping this letter gets to the right hands.

Convient and located around the BART system!

Pros: Clean and comfortable. Centrally located downtown near BART!
Cons: Have room AC going as it was very stuffy in the room when we first arrived.
Location: Pubs located about half block and downtown is just up the street a couple of blocks. BART is about 2 blocks away which takes you to San Francisco!
This was our second trip to the Bay area for a Raiders game. Comfortable rooms with a bit of noise from the street but other than that it was great. Walking distance to the BART which is a great way to get around. Close to local pubs and bars. Safe to walk around at night and didn't think twice about my belongings in room as room and building is key only at night. Staff is very welcoming from the moment you walk in till the moment you leave. Will be back next year and this will be my place to stay!
