Disappointed we were unable to stay at Oakes Hotel. They were have water issues so they set us up at the Hilton. Which was confusing because we were charged for parking charges each night on anboff property 3+ blocks away and other extra charges.

I cannot rate the actual property because I did not stay there. We were relocated to a w bedroom suite at the Hilton, which was incredible. I did see what looked to be the Oakes, from the outside it looks very run down and almost abandoned. I gave it a 5 star on area as its near table rock and everything, very nice clean and safe neighborhood. I can see how at one point it was probably one of the best views (The Oakes) runor has it they are demo soon, so makes sense ....i did love my view as it showed both the USA and Canada falls with great fireworks every night ...at the Hilton, clean, safe, many dining options and great customer service.

I arrive at the property and was told they can not check me in because of some water issue, I was transfered to the Hilton. At the Hilton I was checked into a room that said NO Smoking but it was obvious the room had been smoke in recently as it smelled bad. I have asthma so I had a terrible time.

I reserved our room only a few days before our stay but received a call two days prior stating that the Oakes Hotel was having some plumbing issues and we were transferred to the Hilton Niagara Falls/Falsview Hotel and to go there directly. On checking in we were given a room with a window facing the cement wall of another building on the 10th floor. We were tired and decided to make the best of it. On checking out the clerk at the front desk said that we should have complained once we saw the room and was sorry about that. I will never book an Oakes Hotel or a Hilton Hotel again. Note: on checking the reviews of the Oakes Hotel ( I know, too late, after the fact) there were numberous other people that were transferred to the Hilton as far a 2 weeks ago due to plumbing issues. So not sure why I was able to book just days before our stay.

What didnt like .was they switched hotels right before vacation.so i was really bummed about that.i feel like they should reimburse me for my troubles .but not the same room .hilton was nice dont get me wrong .just got downsizèd to a different hotel over booked prolly
