The Pell was an unexpected pleasant surprise of comfort, clean, hospitality and so much more. From arrival to departure everything was perfection. Check in was smooth and easy, there is no hotel on sight and the gentleman, graciously took my luggage up the steps. The layout of the hotel reminds me of a grand mansion. Our room was clean and the coffee was exceptional. You can tell that great detail went into the room design. Even a full table for two in the room, which we utilized. The hotel has a restaurant on sight that provides the complimentary breakfast which is by far the best breakfast I’ve ever had from any hotel! We also enjoyed dinner on one of our nights. The presentation and the serving size beautiful and generous. After dinner we enjoyed one of the amenities which was the fireplace. Nothing more relaxing than sitting next to a warm fireplace catching up on the fabulous day we had in Newport. The Pell is over the top a surprise of hospitality. The care, the details, over and sincere hospitality is a rarity when traveling. This is a hidden gem that I sincerely appreciated. I’ll be back each time I make it east. I have stage three cancer and this was a perfect bucket list trip to catch up with a friend I had not seen in fifteen years. Thank You to The Pell for making it a fantastic stay and so accommodating. Your Hotel is an example of how hotels should be and be run. With heart, a smile, staff that are hospitable and welcoming. Thank you so much!

While there are no elevators the stairs are accommodating in respect to step height and width. Was fortunate enough to have a good size room, but the walls are paper thin and people were yelling and stomping around the halls until after midnight. The heater in our room worked very well but it was very noisy but then when we woke up we noticed that it was quiet prior to leaving.

Convenient, clean, and nice hotel. The staff was friendly, and accommodating, and the food (breakfast) was really good, with great service! Well worth the add on for the includes breakfast. I would only warn that if you have lots of luggage, there is no elevator so try to get a ground floor room. I would definitely suggest a stay here.

Yes and staff was very helpful BUT the deodorizer used in cleaning was extremely strong and affected my breathing. The desk sent us to try a second room which was better ( had not been occupied for a few days) but was on first floor directly opposite the traffic light. Third room was slightly less fragrant than the first but we were able to open the windows to air it out.

Very nice room and very friendly staff but the hot water did not work for several hours one morning and I was still charged $20 per day for amenities described as "things like free parking" (which is listed on Expedia as free or included) but I am thinking hot water would be high on the list of standard amenities!
