The host was nonresponsive which I am not sure is typical for vrbo as this is our first one. We had a bit of confusion as to where to get the check in details (like the lock code). On the listing it said to text the host but when we did we received no reply. Eventually we figured out how to get it on vrbo. That aside, the property is in complete disrepair. Lights not working, fan not working, AC barely able to cool off the house and was extremely loud. The hosts clearly use a cleaning service so the place was tidy (e.g., sheets and towels were laundered and the place was dusted and vacuumed) but that is where the cleanliness ended. The carpet was gross, dirty, and sticky. We had to wear shoes the entire time. The rug in the living room had a mysterious wet spot that never dried. There was mold growing in the bathroom shower, as well as in several spots on the walls in the house/ceiling where damage was poorly fixed then painted over. The coffee maker and mugs were dirty so we clean them, but when we tried to use the maker, it didn't work (also no tea/coffee). We searched and found another maker in a cupboard which turned out to also be dirty (so we cleaned that too). The stove electrical panel was busted and barely hanging on so we decided not to make our own food to avoid causing a fire. The front door has a gap at the base which let bugs inside. Many other things too, but not enough space to detail. Overall, for the price I expected better, not a landlord special.
