A little far from businesses by foot/on a hill, but the hotel was clean and we got our room cleaned on day 2 without even requesting! Did not try the restaurant but it seemed busy!

The hotel was old. The restaurant and bar was closed the day we stayed there. The bathroom fixtures were very low in height. The room I had booked was for 2 queen beds and a larger room. Our room had a double bed. Wouldn’t stay there again

This is a unique hotel. A nice change from the chain hotels. When built this hotel would have been top class. Excellent materials were used and while a little dated very good quality. It is extremely well cared for showing attention to detail. A present stay and very good value.

The Grand Hotel is a beautiful and clean building with friendly staff that I would stay at again. However I would have preferred if the room stocked tea as well as coffee, for non-coffee drinkers. Also, I would not recommend visiting this hotel unless you are driving as the walkability is really poor.

The property is quaint and well presented. The decor when you walk into the lobby is very interesting and welcoming. The room we were in was very quiet and clean. The decor is starting to wear is the only comment I have. I would recommend this Hotel in Nanaimo.
