Always a Good Choice

Clean, quiet, and comfortable. We always choose a Hilton brand whenever possible, and this hotel didn't disappoint. Roomy, complete kitchen, and great work space. We enjoyed watching the super bowl on the big TV.

The staff were extremely kind to us.. the property is very clean and well taken care of.. the only complaint I have is the beds were horrible.. very very hard and you could feel the springs in your back and legs and the mattress was caved in on one side

The bed were comfy- I liked all the charging ports. The body wash was empty- but everything was very clean. I think the lamp in the sitting room was broken and tipped a bit.

The cold reality

On one of the coldest days of winter, we got to our room and the heat was off. Apparently this is part of the hotel’s policy - the heat turns off when no one is in the room. This clearly saves money for the hotel, but it takes forever to reheat the room from 48 degrees, which tells me it is not a well-insulated hotel (not great for energy efficiency). The whole hotel was rather cold, including our “hot” breakfast. I understand the desire to conserve, but it actually takes more energy to reheat a room than to keep it at a reasonable temperature. The staff did their best, but this hotel policy is not making their work very easy, nor is it best for guests, or quite frankly, the environment. Unfortunately, I doubt I will ever stay at a Homewood Suites again due to this experience.

The breakfasts could be extended to a later hour or two. The housekeeping could be more often. We checked in on Monday, & first touch up cleaning was Thursday? Also, more chairs to eat at the table. There was only 1 chair in the room & the other person had to sit on the end of the couch & reach to the table to eat.

We chose this hotel because it’s in a wonderful location near shopping and restaurants. We stayed 8 nights and in that time had one set of new towels delivered and one complete cleaning. It took three days to get the bulb in the shower/toilet room replaced so that space was dark. The only laundry area in the hotel was not clean. Finally we asked for a wake up call on our last morning to depart for the airport and we did not get one. Fortunately, we woke up in time and when we asked why it did not happen and were we on the list and the answer was, “yes” on the list — “don’t know why you didn’t get called”. I would not recommend it to others even though it’s in a very desirable location in Edina.
