"Set in a beautiful and unique setting, the place provides a great place to stay. Lack of lifts does make it harder to get to the top floors especially with luggage. The only issue were the very heavy fire doors on the bedrooms that made a lot of noise when opened and closed."

Firstly thumbs up for the room having a proper iron and full size ironing board, but some one ahead of me had made the iron rather manky, you know too hot for the fabric, or not having enough water in to steam iron properly. ..."

Wandering in Scottish Highlands? If you're looking to get a feel of the city, reserve places to base your trip which are just a short drive from the main part of Loch Ness. Within an easy driving distance from the city center, travelers will find 8 modern hotels.

The The Craigdarroch Inn is considered one of most ideally situated options, one of the limited options within an easy stroll of the Loch Ness downtown precinct.

The Caledonian Cottage is a budget-conscious hotel. You'll find it located 11 miles (18 kilometers) from the middle of Loch Ness. An alternative budget option in Loch Ness is the Loch Ness Clansman Hotel.

The Loch Ness Country House Hotel is around 15 miles (25 kilometers) outside the town center of Loch Ness. Another alternative is the The Lovat, Loch Ness, which can be found about 11 miles (18 kilometers) away. "Right, what really makes a place is how they react to things being a bit off. Firstly thumbs up for the room having a proper iron and full size ironing board, but some one ahead of me had made the iron rather manky, you know too hot for the fabric, or not having enough water in to steam iron properly. The hotel did not have any iron cleaner, but initially gave me a clean pillow case to put between the iron and my clothes, ( a good tip if you have linen iron cotton pillowcases), and then within 5 minutes were at the door with a brand new replacement iron. Top marks, remember this is an old building so it creaks a bit and the plumbing occasionally wheeze, but the showers are good, the rooms clean and the bed was comfy. Well done team."
