While we were able to switch to a different room, our original room was far from a comforting stay. The carpet looked like it needed to be replaced, the bath tub looked like it may have mold build up, and the ac unit had so much build up of dust that we believe was the main source of the mildew smell. We were a late check in, but thankfully we were moved to a new room that was better but still with its own issues. The bathtub looked like it had the beginnings of mold going around it, there was a crack in the shower wall, the tub looked like it need to soak in bleach, and the shower head was entirely visible of calcium build up. The best part about this property was the check in and check out process.

Good-online check-in Good-convenient location Bad-room not cleaned properly, tables were sticky and glass rings all over. Hair in sink, lipstick on bathroom towel, one bed didn’t have clean sheets. (Stains) Really bad-asked for wheelchair access but given 3rd floor room. NO ELEVATOR! Tired from driving for 8 hours. Made the best of the situation. Bought some Lysol and Clorox wipes and cleaned the room before we went to sleep.

I don't expect the Hilton when staying at a Super 8. But it should be clean. There was hair in the sink drain trap. The shower curtain at the bottom looked moldy when dry. The caulk job around the sink was unprofessional. The bed mattress felt like I was laying on layered cardboard. One of the pillow cases had some markings or stains. The freezer portion in the mini fridge looked dirty.

You don't expect anything fancy at a Super 8, but I don't think it is unreasonable to find basic amenities in working order. The heating/cooling unit in my room was so noisy that it was impossible to stay in the room while it was running (so, yes, I turned it off while there). The bathroom sink drain could not keep up with the running water, which then accumulated in the basin. Perhaps this was viewed as a feature, as there was no stopper for the drain if you wanted to fill the bowl. The toilet did not have a seat cover; it was just the seat portion, like in some stall. Luckily, nothing fell in from the sink area. The TV worked fine and the bed was reasonably comfortable. The desk and chair made computer work possible. While there is free wi-fi, it is unsecured (no password), so use at your own risk. The free breakfast was pretty basic: coffee/tea, juice, milk, yogurt, one or two fresh fruit options, mini powdered doughnuts, kids cereals (e.g., Fruit Loops), packets of oatmeal, and toast. It would have been nice if there had been bagels or pastries, or even an adult cereal choice. Due to the hotel's location just off the highway, there is a lot of road noise, especially if your room is near the front of the building. Bring earplugs.
