Laurel Lake Placid
"The look of the hotel is nice, bed was comfortable, and the view was beautiful but beyond that really not impressed. Overall it felt like no one really cares for the property (eg elevator in poor condition, common area carpet really worn and dirty in many areas and even a broken air hockey table, We weren’t told about breakfast upon check in which wasn’t much anyway. Very loud too, you can hear everything outside the room. Overall experience was meh."

High Peaks Resort
"Our stay in the resort's Waterfront collection was great! The Junior suite was literally on the water with beautiful views. It's a large room with gas fireplace, jetted tub, separate shower, dual sinks and a comfortable king bed. Nearby Black Bear restaurant on Main St. was a favorite, with only a two minute walk for great food. We didn't have the chance to use their kayaks or paddleboats, but did take advantage of the hot tub and indoor pool in the Lake House for post-hikes recovery. This was the one area clearly in need of renovation. Overall, the High Peaks Resort's Waterfront collection is now one of our top choices to stay in Lake Placid."
