Very clean hotel and across the street from a subway station. Only thing I can knock them for is the washer/dryer machines they have on site. They are coin op and the additional drying functions are only by 30 min increments. Did 2.5 hours worth of drying for my small load of clothes but still damp so I gave up. Gave up and threw my clothes in the luggage anyway.

Not that great

I booked this hotel six months ago looking at the reviews but didn’t find it anything like that. Room was quiet expensive and too small. City view was nothing more than a car park view. Room and corridors smell badly. Seemed like room had not been cleaned from long time as there was dust on the side table and the phone. The toilet seat wasn’t cleaned too. When reported to reception, the lady named Uno didn’t pay any attention. I searched online and was getting bigger room cheaper than what I had booked but she didn’t budged to help with upgrade or cancellation. Please be careful as the hotel has policy of 80% fee if there are any issues which I wasn’t aware of. The only thing good was the breakfast and the convenient location as hotel is just 3min from station.

This hotel did surprised us. The room is bigger than we thought . They offered the 4th bed without my asking. Very clean and tidy . Hotel staff were excellent and attentive . Breakfast was also impressive . However there were only 4 washing machines that are always occupied. Overall excellent

The best hotel I stayed at during my Japan trip. Our room was huge compared to other rooms in Japan, it was clean, the staff were amazingly helpful and it was in such a confident location; one stop away from Kyoto main station.

Truly enjoyed our stay here. Very clean and the staff were very helpful and accommodating. The hotel is so big, it has activities like Japanese floral arrangement, tea ceremony, and activities for kids. It has amazing restaurants as well. We ate at sushi restaurant inside the hotel and we were able to use our free vouchers!

Great hotel for my family

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Emion in Kyoto. The hotel is clean, modern, and offered nice amenities. It is located near a train station and there are a few restaurants located below the hotel. I highly recommend this family friendly hotel, and I would definitely come back.

The staff were very polite and helpful. They helped us call for a taxi at 5 in the morning so we could make it the airport in time. The hotel is was well maintained and clean. It was a great experience and I’d stay here again if I come back to Kyoto!

Beauty and relaxation

This was my second long stay at Hotel Emion in Kyoto. I do really like this hotel. The rooms are big, the service is good, it’s just across the street from a train station, there is a bus stop a few steps away and it is very close to the Kyoto train station. It is in a quiet area with a beautiful view.

The hotel facilities were lovely. I just wish that the rule about guests with tattoo not being able to use the spa would be more clear upfront as we booked this hotel for a relaxing stay using the onsen but were not allowed to do so. Area is lovely around but the bus stop for the 207 is 10 minutes away by foot. We used taxi to get to and from the main station.

Booked this spot day before on a whim. Was nervous considering it was the cheapest spot we stayed at on our trip to Japan, but it was great! Wife is still raving about the onsen. They have a sauna, cold plunge and warm and hot tub in public bath. Breakfast was fantastic. Service, top notch. Being familiar with Kyoto I liked the location a lot. Quieter, but literally connected to the train station for easy access to Kyoto station and beyond. It’s not right in the action of Kyoto (Gion district area) though, probably 20-25 min train or 15 min taxi.

Loved it!

When arriving, not only was the lobby beautiful with a view - but the staff was very friendly and even upgraded us to a bigger room without asking! The room itself was VERY spacious, clean, the bathroom and shower area was so nice - they had everything you could possibly need (ie toothbrush/toothpaste, brush, facial products, shower products, hair dryer, etc). I’ve found beds in Japan are never comfy but these were actually better than other hotels. The room view was so pretty. I have nothing bad to say, I will absolutely be staying here again if I come back to Kyoto!
