"Check in required a phone call but was easily remedied. The property was in an excellent location. The unit itself was lovely and looked exactly as advertised. We enjoyed our coffee on the small balcony. We only stayed one night otherwise I would have wanted to address the dampness in the unit. Felt and smelled like the carpet had just been cleaned but perhaps not completely dried??"

"I have been coming to Hatteras Sands a couple of times a year for at least 5 years now; first in my RV, now in the cabins. Not sure I want to talk it up too much because it's my happy place in Hatteras and I don't want to make it so popular that I can't get in when I want to. The units, grounds, and bathhouse are kept clean, the staff is helpful and friendly, No real shopping nearby - restaurants, places to buy seafood, a small grocery that also sells beer, a bakery, some shops by the ferry - but that's not why I go there, anyhow. The other people there are generally respectful of quiet time; many of them fish while they are there, so they are out early in the morning and in bed early at night. I expect I will continue to stay there for as long as I am able to get there. A+++"
