We will continue to rent from Kona Reef again and again. We visited Big Island 10 years ago and stayed @ Kona Reef, different unit. Was great then and great again this trip. This particular unit had so many beach extras that came in handy for our trip. Plenty of beach towels, bamboo beach mat, 2 coolers, 3 beach chairs, 2 umbrellas. The pool and hot tub was very clean. The beach area next to the property makes it a great location if beach & sand is important to you. The property is central to shopping and local beach attractions. This unit was very clean and provided ample extras that made our stay comfortable. Thank you for sharing your property with us!

Great location to see sunsets and walk to town. Super spacious and had everything we needed! Great beaches and beat the hell out of Maui traffic. We will be back for sure! Thanks for the great place!!

This was a great place to stay in Kona. Highly recommended. The check-in and checkout process was super convenient. The condo has an amazing view from the lanai. It was also very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Would definitely stay here again the next time we are in Kona.

This unit was as described and more! We loved the location and closeness to the ocean, can’t be beat! We used the beach chairs(3) and umbrella as well as the cooler for our day trips. Many restaurants are within walking distance and an abc store is close by. Parking was never an issue to find, we used above ground parking and it felt secure. Supplies were enough for our family of 3 that went adventuring everyday so not as much time spent in the condo but definitely enough. Ice was even made upon arrival and they had beach towels which we didn’t expect! I would have rated this 5 stars on everything but we did have an issue with the keyless entry and it took an hour to resolve late at night when we were exhausted from travelling. After getting a code for the back up key we were inside and they changed the batteries to the keyless the next day. If you are looking for morning coffee watching the waves, taking in the sunsets on your own lanai, this is for you :)

View is absolutely spectacular, nice private balcony just feet from the ocean! Central AC was wonderful. Well stocked kitchen, linens, beach chairs/towels/umbrella. Managing company very responsive and proactive. Very clean. Convenient location, 2 block walk into village. Complimentary garage parking. Only down side is that the one side of this corner unit faces the pool area. When inside with the windows closed you can clearly hear the conversations in the hot tub and people in the pool area. When sitting outside on the balcony you can't hear any of this because of the beautiful crashing waves! Overall, the awesome view, location, and condo itself far out weigh this minor annoyance. Highly recommend staying in this unit. If ever back in this area, we would definetely stay here again!!

My review has more to do with the TV and Placement of the TV.I wanted to watch some of the NFL playoff games. I recommend you get rid of the cheap 32" TV and in place of the mirrors that are separated install a 65 to 75" TV from Costco. Then rearrange the furniture for better comfort and viewing. The closet you now have the TV in could be a pantry for the kitchen as there is no storage for groceries. We had to leave everything out on the counters. Other than that the place is in a great location and the beds are comfortable. The views are also great.

I've stayed at Kona Reef many times over the years and #D31 is amazing (top floor corner). Great views and accommodations within a short walking distance to town. We live on Maui and will definitely stay there again.

Boom it!Stunning! Walking in you are immediately greeted by the sight and sound of ocean. A couple previous reviews state that the condo is dirty and dated. It appears this unit may have had some renovations since. There is tile throughout and recently remodeled master bath. It was very clean and well stocked. Comfortable beds and linens The air conditioner kept it very cool and comfortable. The pool, hot tub and BBQ area are kept in excellent condition. This place takes pride in ownership. The folding beach chairs and towels came in handy for our visits to the little sand beach right next door. Easy walk to shops, dinner and market. Customer service was quick to respond to any questions via email, text and phone. I would stay again!

Views, Views, Views!

Overall, we had a great time at our stay in Kona and at the Kona Reef. The views from the lanai were amazing and the location to downtown was on point. We could hear the waves crashing from our bedroom, which was fantastic! I will say the complex is a bit tired looking, and the elevators were out for the whole time that we were there which made it difficult to go up flights of stairs with luggage. That is not this Condo‘s fault though.That said, we would definitely stay here again. The condo and pool were very nice and had everything that we could possibly need for a great stay in Kona. They even had umbrellas and some beach chairs for us to use along with a cooler. This made for easy beach days. The management company was very communicative and easy to work with as well. Thanks for contributing to a wonderful vacation!

The view is amazing

We loved our time at Kona Reef, the view was amazing and we enjoyed watching whales, dolphins and turtles from the lanai! The unit was stocked with everything we needed. It was a perfect unit for 2 couples traveling together. Can’t wait to come again!

Excellent

Location is excellent, can walk to village.Upon arrival, we were surprised there was not a welcome basket of some nature. This however was outweighed when we were delightfully surprised that there was more than the usual 4-5days supply of dishwashing soap, laundry soap, bath room supplies. This was MOST appreciated.We saw whales, dolphins almost every d a y from our lanai and on the last day a turtle came by to say goodbye to us.The only downside was the ensuite sink was plugged. I phoned to advise the R&M people and they said they would try and find a plumber to come (in a week). We pulled hair out of the drain daily to try and help it drain.Also, there was only one bbq but this was being dealt with and through no fault of the owners was not resolved quickly. The owners finally just went out and bought two. I We booked again for next year.

AMAZING

Excellent Location and Beautiful View

We enjoyed being within walking distance of many restaurants and shops in downtown Kailua-Kona. And the view from our balcony was a perfect way to start the day with coffee and enjoy the sunset in the evenings.

Beautiful location, but needs renovation

We loved the location and the view. Spectacular view over looking the ocean. For the price that we paid ($4K for only 1 week!) we were surprised by the poor quality of the interior. The carpet was a mess, appliances rusty, dozens of small holes in the kitchen floor tile, sink completely plugged up in the master bathroom, the patio lock didn't work right and locked us out of the condo, and, there was no way back inside. The place really needs to be renovated and upgraded. Also, I specifically booked this condo because it was listed as having two twin beds in the guest room but only had a queen. I needed two beds in that room. Overall, it was a great location, but not worth the price. I would not stay in this specific condo again, but we love Kona Reef.

Paradise Getaway

I've stayed at this unit twice before with girlfiends and absolutely love it! This time I brought my husband, and he enjoyed it as well. So much so, we'll be back next month! It is so comfortable and the views from the lanai are spectacular!

D31 wonderful condo and the oceanside setting is great!

It is a great complex to enjoy not only the condo but the pool, bbq, the surf and sounds. It is perfect to walk to all sites at Seaside Kona, which has to offer! Love it here and will stay here again! If you want to have vacation and still feel you have a home here! This is the place! All the amenities were great! A/c was central and worked great! It has a good hawaiian feel as you come to understand the Hawaiian way and how to adjust to your vacation. Had many great nights at the bbq and pool and then walk a short way for some gelato or shave ice! I will definitely come again and to this unit D 31! Thank you!
