It was the perfect place to stay and walk to Kucukciftlik park/garden concert venue. Very happy about that!!! Close to Taksim Square the heart of modern Istanbul. The staff were very helpful with assistance on transportation, even with the language difference. Very close to the Aston hotel takism, in front of the Aston hotel takism is a pickup/ drop point for online bookings of flight/tours to Ephesus. I loved the decoratiive lights above the street at night .Certain areas are very steep especially going down to the Galata walking bridge. Traffic can be busy on the street and very little sidewalks. You have to watch out for traffic. You have to pay close attention to the one way street spikes.I have stumbled over them and have see others stumble over them as well.Only issues I had was the shower drain was very slow. I didn't like standing in dirty water. Stayed 7 days and no house keeping to remove trash or changed the linen.

The hotel is in an amazing location with plenty of transport options to easily get you out and about (metro, tram, bus, boats). There are plenty of bars, restaurants and supermarkets for the basics. Although we were given the room with the big balcony as we asked on booking, the room was definately photographed with a wide angle lense and not as spacious as it appears on the photos but it was newly decorated and although initially disappointing we didn’t mind. Unfortunately though we found black hair in the fridge and 2 old chocolate bars so it hadn’t been cleaned but again we cleaned it ourselves and didn’t raise it as an issue. The main problem we had was the water supply to our room (which was on the fourth floor of five) it was working ok on the first day but there was an issue locally and from day 2 (so for 4 days of our holiday) we had a trickle of water to the shower, the tap every now and again and the toilet didn’t flush for a few hours the one day. We did report this to the reception and the girl there was really helpfu but she couldn’t really do anything about the situation other than offer us another room to shower in until the problem was sorted, which it still wasn’t when we left. I have taken this up with the manager (via the lovely lady on reception) and also with Expedia but yet to receive a reply. It’s a real shame as this really ruined our experience with the Diderot. If there hadn’t been a water issue I would recommend this hotel, cleaning aside.

The staffs are really helpful and friendly and their english is good enough. The room was fine but it could be better. I haven't encountered any difficulties. It is pretty close to public transportation and taksim area. Overall I probably give them 4.5 star just reduce half point since they can improve the room condition.

We waited 2 hours to receive a small room with one queen bed no sofa bed. They told us that there wasn't a reservation in our name. The room was so small almost clean, but the balcony was very dirty. No room service,only if u asked to. No breakfast at the hotel, although we booked with breakfast. The staff is friendly but only speaks turkish so u cannot reason with them and the hotel manager is always absent. It's not a hotel....
